DETOUR Shak Attack point-guard Orlando Mapp was on fire as Laventille destroyed Belmont 97-49 in their North Sector Hoop of Life Community Basketball Tournament at the Raymond Reid Court St Clair on Sunday.

Mapp led the star studded Laventillians with a game-high 30 points as they were too hot for the home team to handle. The visitors jumped out to a 23-8 lead at the end of the first quarter making their intentions clear.

The home had a better second period, but they were still behind by 23 points heading into half-time. Laventille came out firing on all cylinders in the third quarter as they scored 28 points in the period compare to just 12 by their opponents as the third ended 72-33.

The visitors kept up the intensity in the final-quarter as they added 25 and in the process holding the home team to 16 as they came away with their fourth win from as many matches.

Centre Ashton Du Murrell supported well with 14 points, while Ancil Olliverre and Steven Lighter Lewis chipped in with 12 and 11 points respectively.

Nathyon Lewis led Belmont with 11 points and seven rebounds, while Quincy Mc Fee added ten points.

Meanwhile Kemba Edwards led Santa Flora to a 48-44 victory in a low scoring encounter over Fyzabad at the Santa Flora Court, Jacob Settlement. This marked the second win for the home team in three matches.

Edwards led the way with a team-high 15 points. Kaylon Cuffie had a game-high 17 points in a losing cause for the visitors. He also dished out five assists and claimed six steals.

N'WADIKE Felix and Remy Brewer both displayed top performances, leading Queen's Royal College (QRC) and International School of Port of Spain (ISPS) respectively to victories in the Trinidad and Tobago Schools Basketball Association North Zone League, last Tuesday. Felix scored 18 points to lead QRC to a 40-33 win over East Mucurapo at the Jean Pierre Complex in Mucurapo. Leyma Basquet Coruna (LEB Gold) announced the arrival of 27-year old Trinidad and Tobago ex-international center Kyle Rowley (213-107kg-90, college: St.Mary's, CA). Rowley comes from Araberri, where he spent 5 months before parting ways with the Basque team last week. In 14 games he averaged 8.6ppg and 7.5rpg this season. 27-year old Trinidad and Tobago center Kyle Rowley (213-107kg-90, college: St.Mary's, CA) left LEB Gold newcomer Saenz Horeca Araberri.In 14 LEB Gold games in Spain he averaged 8.6ppg and 7.5rpg this season. Rowley also spent pre-season at Baskonia Vitoria Gasteiz (Liga Endesa) earlier that year. He played in the final of WCC Tournament in 2013.
