Forward Ako Pascall scored a match-high 31 points, as he led four other scorers into double digits for Marabella United in a 101-59 demolition of Pleasantville Spartans, when action continued in South Sector Two of the Hoop of Life Community Basketball League.

The one-sided affair took place at the Marabella Basketball Court, Bayshore, with the host Marabella jumping off to a commanding 17-10 lead. Pleasantville remained in the contest even at half-time, when the score read 35-27 in favour of the host, but by the turn of the third period Marabella took control and never looked back, thanks to the efforts of the tire-less Pascall who sank 20
points during the closing stages.

It was Marabellas third consecutive win following the opening round defeat, to go second behind unbeaten leader La Romaine. Pascall got support from Joel Marryshaw, who scored 13 points, followed by Michael Pantin, Asfa Grant and Rekayi Isaac, all of whom scored 10 points.

For Pleasantville, which lost for the second time in three outings, Kino Fleary netted 18 points, while Adisa Romeo took 14 points. In the South Sector One match on the night, which saw the lowest scoring encounter of the season thus far, Penal defeated Santa Flora 41-36 at Lachoos Road, Penal.

The host led 11-6 and 20-18 after the first two periods, before it held on by one point, 28-27, with the fourth quarter to play. Penal made the most of the final 10 minutes, and outscored the visitors 13-9 for a second win in four matches.

For Penal, Flanklyn Lewis was the only person to record double digits with his 11 point tally, while Quincy Bradshaw and Kelvin Henry each scored 10 points for Santa Flora. At the Valencia Basketball Court on the same night, host team Valencia Magic sealed the most one-sided of victories, 87-26 over Toco Fun Lovers in the East Sector Three.

The win was masterminded by talented and athletic forward Fabrice Fisher who scored a match-high 29 points. Fisher scored eight first quarter points to set the pace for the home team which opened a 24-4 first quarter lead.

Valencia Magics defence then stifled the visitors offence which managed just two points in the second quarter, a basket converted by Irby Francois. Toco feared better in the third stanza with a production of 10 points as Valencia controlled the contest 63-16.

The win was Valencias fourth in as many matches to lead the five-team standing. Centre Michael Saunders supported Fisher with 19 points, 11 rebounds and five steals. Fisher also pulled down 12 rebounds while team-mate Stefan Davis helped himself to 18 points.

For Toco which lost for the first time in three matches, Nicholas Callender and Francois scored six points each.

N'WADIKE Felix and Remy Brewer both displayed top performances, leading Queen's Royal College (QRC) and International School of Port of Spain (ISPS) respectively to victories in the Trinidad and Tobago Schools Basketball Association North Zone League, last Tuesday. Leyma Basquet Coruna (LEB Gold) announced the arrival of 27-year old Trinidad and Tobago ex-international center Kyle Rowley (213-107kg-90, college: St.Mary's, CA).
