De'Quon Lake
De'Quon Lake (208-C)< scored 38 points Saturday as Iowa Western raced past Central Community College 100-73 in men's basketball at Kanesville Arena.
The 6-foot-10 sophomore made 17 of 19 shots from the field and collected 11 rebounds.
'De'Quon has been working hard, and it is nice to see that work pay dividends,' Iowa Western coach Michael Johnette said. 'He was special tonight. I was also pleased to see his teammates recognize that and get him the basketball.'
Next up for the Reivers is Region XI rival Indian Hills, ranked 24th in NJCAA Division I.

Zalgiris Kaunas continued fortifying its roster for the 2017-18 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague season by signing small forward Royce O'Neale (198-SF-93, college: Baylor) to a one-plus-one contract. Rashawn Fredericks (198-G-97) has thoroughly enjoyed his time playing for the U.S. Virgin Islands national team and Jareem Dowling. That relationship paid dividends for North Texas this week, when Fredericks announced that he will continue his career with the Mean Green. New UNT head coach Grant McCasland brought Dowling with him from Arkansas State, where both coached last season. Atlanta is probably the most populated city where Virgin Islanders call home in the United States. Make room for one more as John Collins (208-F-97) was selected by the Atlanta Hawks at the 2017 NBA Draft. Collins played an instrumental role in bringing Wake Forest out of the basement of the ACC and leading them back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2010.
