   #1. This week's number one is an international center Frank Elegar (208-86, college: Drexel, currently plays in FIBA Europe Cup). He contributed to an easy victory against the fourth-ranked Benfica (0-6) crushing them 89-58 in the FIBA Europe Cup in Wednesday night's game. Elegar scored 10 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 22 minutes on the court. Enisey Krasnoyarsk (5-1) is placed first in group P. There are only two games left until the end of the FIBA Europe Cup Second Stage. So now every game will be critical. It's Elegar's first season with the team. He has individually a very good year with high stats. Elegar averages: 15.8ppg, 9.4rpg, 1.4apg, 1.6bpg, 1.1spg, 2FGP: 68.7%(57-83) and FT: 63.6% in nine games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: U.S. Virgin Islands and Guyanese. Elegar is currently a member of the U.S. Virgin Islands senior national team.

Ivan Aska

   #2. Second place goes to an international forward Ivan Aska (201-90, college: Murray St., currently plays in South Korea). He could not help ET Land Elephants (17-18) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Aska's very good performance ET Land Elephants were defeated 81-70 on the road by the leading Anyang KGC. He was the top scorer with 26 points. Aska also added 9 rebounds. This season Aska has very high stats. He averages: 15.4ppg, 5.9rpg, 1.2apg, 1.1spg, 2FGP: 54.9%. Aska is another player who holds two passports: U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rican. He is in the roster of the U.S. Virgin Islands senior national team.

   #3. The U.S. Virgin Islands player who performed third best last week abroad was an experienced international forward Victor Cuthbert (197-83, college: Murray St., currently plays in South Korea) is a teammate of previously mentioned Ivan Aska. But that was another game of his team in South Korean KBL which we would like to mention. Cuthbert. He was not able to help ET Land Elephants (17-18) in their last game. Despite Cuthbert's very good performance ET Land Elephants lost 71-76 in Seoul to the lower-ranked (#8) SK Knights. He had a double-double by scoring 24 points and getting 11 rebounds in 33 minutes. Cuthbert has relatively good stats this year: 11.5ppg, 8.1rpg, 2.1apg, 2.0spg, 2FGP: 56.0%(145-259), 3FGP: 31.6% and FT: 61.0% in 35 games. He is also a member of the U.S. Virgin Islands senior national team.

Center Craig Williams (206-89, college: TCU, currently plays in Japan) led Orange Vikings to a 2-point victory over the fourth-ranked Tokyo Excellence (10-21) 78-76 in the Japanese B League D2 last Sunday. Williams was MVP of the game. He had a double-double by scoring 23 points and getting 16 rebounds in 25 minutes. Ehime Orange Vikings (13-19) are placed fourth in West group. This year Williams has relatively solid stats: 11.3ppg, 7.3rpg and 1.3apg in 29 games. He is also U.S. Virgin Islands national team player.

   #5. International forward Javier Martinez (201-93, agency: DTMones, currently plays college basketball in the States) led Tenn-Martin to an easy victory against the Tennessee Tech University (5-4) crushing them 75-46 in the NCAA on Wednesday night. Martinez recorded a double-double by scoring 22 points and getting 21 rebounds. The University of Tennessee at Martin has 2-2 conference record this season. Martinez is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fourth year in Tenn-Martin's roster. He has reliable stats this season: 11.3ppg, 7.5rpg and 1.5apg. Martinez plays currently for the U.S. Virgin Islands national team.

   #6. Guard Khallid Hart (188-95, currently studies in the States), who plays in the NCAA was not able to secure a victory for the Marist (3-5) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the Marist lost 71-83 in West Long Branch to the Monmouth University. Hart recorded 25 points and added 3 assists in 34 minutes. Hart has been at the team for five years. He has very impressive stats this season: 17.5ppg, 2.5rpg, 2.5apg and 1.1spg in 22 games. Hart is an international player who is currently on the senior U.S. Virgin Islands National Team roster.

   #7. Former international forward Aaron Brown (196-92, college: Boston Coll., currently plays in Israel) couldn't help Ironi Ramat Gan (2-15) in their last game on Tuesday. Despite his very good performance the bottom-ranked Ironi Ramat Gan was crushed 102-71 at home by the second-ranked Maccabi Raanana. Brown was the second best scorer with 15 points. This season Brown has very high stats. He averages: 21.5ppg, 5.2rpg and 1.5apg. Brown used to play for the U.S. Virgin Islands national team three years ago.

   #8. Forward Justin Gray (198-95, is currently at the American university), who plays in the NCAA couldn't help the Texas Tech (2-3) in their last game. Despite his good performance the Texas Tech lost 61-65 on their home court in Lubbock to the Baylor University. Gray scored 12 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 38 minutes. Gray plays fourth season for the team. This year his overall stats are: 8.8ppg, 5.5rpg and 2.0apg in 21 games. Gray plays currently for the U.S. Virgin Islands national team.

International forward Jordan Murphy (198-97, currently plays college basketball in the States) couldn't help the Minnesota (3-3) in their game against the University of Maryland (1-0) in the NCAA. Despite his good performance on Saturday night He scored 10 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and made 2 blocks. Murphy's total stats this season are: 9.7ppg, 7.5rpg and 1.1bpg. He has both American and U.S. Virgin Islands nationalities. Murphy is also in the roster of the U.S. Virgin Islands national team.

   #10. Guard Angel Rivera (173-95, currently plays college basketball in the States) contributed to Stetson's victory against the University of North Florida 88-74 in the NCAA on Saturday night. He scored 9 points and added 8 assists in 28 minutes. The Stetson University has 0-3 conference record this season. This year Rivera's total stats are: 8.5ppg, 3.4rpg and 5.5apg in 24 games. He is an international player who is currently on the senior U.S. Virgin Islands National Team roster.

   #11. Former U17 international guard Stephaun Adams (190-96, currently plays college basketball in the States) couldn't help the Tenn Tech in their game against the Eastern Kentucky University in the NCAA. Despite his good performance in Saturday night's game Adams scored 10 points. Adams has averaged so far 3.3ppg, 2.7rpg and 1.6apg. He used to play for the U.S. Virgin Islands U17 national team four years ago.


The list of other players, who all have U.S. Virgin Islands passport but never been selected to any of U.S. Virgin Islands national teams:

   #1. John Collins (208-F-97, currently plays college basketball in the States) led Wake Forest to a victory against the Boston College 85-80 in the NCAA in Tuesday night's game. Collins recorded a double-double by scoring 26 points and getting 16 rebounds. He also added 3 blocks. The Wake Forest University has 1-4 conference record this season. Collins has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 17.5ppg, 9.2rpg and 1.6bpg.

   #2. Deon Edwin (190-G-92, currently studies in the States), who plays in the NCAA could not help the Kent St. (1-3) in their last game on Saturday. Despite his very good performance the Kent St. (#15) was defeated 105-98 on the road by the Central Michigan University. Edwin scored 23 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. Edwin's stats this season are: 13.1ppg, 5.0rpg, 2.2apg and 1.3spg.

   #3. Rakeem Christmas (206-F-91, college: Syracuse, currently plays in NBA) managed to help Indiana Pacers in a victory against the Houston Rockets (36-16) 120-101 in the NBA on Sunday night. He scored 5 points in 3 minutes. The Indiana Pacers have 26-22 record this season. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. This year Christmas' overall stats are: 2.0ppg and 1.3rpg in four games he played so far.

   #4. Tony Aska (202-F, currently plays in NCAA2) contributed to a 1-point Southern Arkansas' victory against the SE Oklahoma State University (2-9) 66-65 in the NCAA2 in Thursday night's game. He had a double-double by scoring 12 points and getting 13 rebounds in 31 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. The Southern Arkansas have 6-7 record this season. This year Aska's total stats are: 8.2ppg, 8.0rpg and 1.9bpg in 14 games.

   #5. Earl Thompson (196-G/F, currently plays in Canada) was not able to help the Brandon University (7-11) in their last game on Friday. Despite his good performance the Brandon University (#9) was crushed 127-62 in Vancouver, BC by the Thunderbirds. Thompson was the top scorer with 14 points. He also added 5 rebounds. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. This season Thompson has very high stats. He averages: 15.7ppg, 8.3rpg and 1.6apg. Thompson has a dual citizenship: U.S. Virgin Islands and American.

   #6. Kyle Clarke (196-G, is currently at the American university) was not able to secure a victory for the Kennesaw St. in their game against the South Carolina Upstate in the NCAA. Clarke scored 6 points and added 4 assists in 25 minutes. His team lost 73-79. Clarke has averaged so far 4.5ppg, 1.8rpg and 2.6apg in 24 games.

   #7. Jahmiah Simmons (193-G, currently plays college basketball in the States) contributed to an Arkansas St.'s victory against the University of Louisiana at Monroe 73-63 in the NCAA on Saturday night. He scored 5 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Simmons has averaged so far 5.7ppg and 4.2rpg.

   #8. Desi Rodriguez (198-F-96, currently plays college basketball in the States) couldn't help the Seton Hall in their game against the Xavier University in the NCAA, despite his very good performance in Wednesday night's game. He scored 16 points and added 3 assists in 37 minutes. But his team was edged 72-70. Rodriguez has very impressive stats this year: 16.0ppg, 5.1rpg, 1.9apg and 1.1spg in 21 games.
