High School abroad results.
ORLANDO
Shawn Evans and No. 10 DP (18-8) defeated Cypress Creek 45-29 to earn a spot in region play for the 11th consecutive season. The Panthers' zone defense made things difficult for the Bears all night.
'The semifinal is always huge, playing for the playoffs,' Dr. Phillips coach Anthony Long said. 'They slowed the game down but we kept our composure, and our defense worked hard.'
A region playoff berth is guaranteed for all of Friday's finalists. District champs will gain homecourt advantage for their games against runner-ups from adjacent districts Thursday.

Junior forward Shaquan Jules came off the bench to score 26 points, including eight dunks, to lead No. 6 Windermere Prep (17-9) to an 85-64 win over Trinity Prep (9-18) in 5A-6.
Jules also grabbed 11 rebounds for the Lakers, who will meet No. 12 Master's Academy (19-7) in Friday's final.
Windy Prep has breezed to its fifth straight postseason appearance.
The Lakers jumped to an 8-0 lead before Trinity answered and closed the gap to two points midway through the second stanza. Ahead 33-23 at halftime, WP lengthened the lead to as much as 24 in the fourth quarter.
"When we share the ball, we're pretty good,' said Windermere Prep coach Ben Wilson. 'Sometimes on the big stage during the season we had a couple guys who wanted to do it on their own. We kinda settled in last week and re-identify who we are."

Top seed Oviedo rallied for a win in the 9A-2 semifinals.
Miguel Lopez (189-F-99) scored all 13 of his points in the second half for Oviedo (18-7) as the Lions rallied to beat Winter Springs 53-45.
The Bears (12-15) played stifling defense and ran a methodical half-court offense that lulled the Lions for the first 16 minutes. But Oviedo outscored the Bears 19-3 coming out of halftime to take control and post career win No. 898 for coach Ed Kershner.
'We came out really well in the second half,' Kershner said. 'The effort was definitely there and we executed on both ends."

TREASURE COAST
J-Quan Ferrol had a triple-double and Shaquoy Ferrol had a double-double to lead Okeechobee High School's boys basketball team to an 82-53 win over South Fork in a District 13-7A tournament game on Wednesday in Okeechobee.
J-Quan Ferrol scored 10 points, grabbed 12 rebounds, dished out 10 assists and added four blocks. Shaquoy Ferrol scored 35 points and pulled down 10 rebounds.
Demetrius Clark scored 26 points and had eight rebounds for the Brahmans (21-5).
Okeechobee outscored South Fork 21-7 in the first quarter to take control of the game.
The Brahmans play Heritage in a district semifinal Friday.

WASHINGTON
Tariq Romain had 20 points in an 86-64 victory over Stadium in a first-round West Central/Southwest bi-district boys basketball game at North Thurston High School.
The Blazers (16-5) progress to a 7:45 p.m. game Friday in the Blazers' own gym against Prairie.

Collins selected by the Hawks - 1 day ago
Atlanta is probably the most populated city where Virgin Islanders call home in the United States. Make room for one more as John Collins (208-F-97) was selected by the Atlanta Hawks at the 2017 NBA Draft. Collins played an instrumental role in bringing Wake Forest out of the basement of the ACC and leading them back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2010. He will now have an opportunity to bump heads with rap sensation Rock City and Benny Demus. Collins was selected 19th ov...   [read more]
It's been 20 years since Spurs drafted Duncan - 3 days ago
SAN ANTONIO - Time flies when you're having fun and that can't be more true for Tim Duncan who was drafted by the Spurs 20 years ago. The San Antonio Spurs posted a tribute video on Facebook of Duncan by throwing it back to Draft Day 1997 where he was the first overall pick. Duncan played for four years at Wake Forest University where he averaged 16.5 points per game. In 1997, Duncan was voted Naismith College Player of the year. During his rookie year, Duncan didn't slow down by avera...   [read more]

John Collins Invited to Green Room for NBA Draft - 3 days ago
Former Wake Forest basketball forward/center John Collins (208-F-97) has been invited to be in the Green Room at the Barclays Center for the NBA Draft on June 22. The Green Room is a special room set aside at the draft site for the invited players plus their families and agents. When their name is called, the player leaves the room and goes up on stage to shake the hand of commissioner Adam Silver and receive a hat of the team they have been drafted by. This is usually followed by an int...   [read more]
