After settling for silver medal at the last U17 tournament, the Virgin Islands team is still in search of a golden opportunity. FIBA Americas announced that the Men U17 Centrobasket Championships will be held in the city of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, July 26-30, 2017. Countries participating are CBC Members the Bahamas, Dominican
Republic, Jamaica, Guyana, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands in addition to Mexico and Panama from Central America. U-17 Centro Basket Championships are for players BORN January 1, 2000 or after.

Requirements to represent the Virgin Islands: Must HAVE US PASSPORT
Players MUST BE Born January 1, 2000 or After
1. Player born in the Virgin Islands;
2. At least one parent born in the Virgin Islands (WITH VERIFICATION);
3. Grand Parent (s) born in the Virgin Islands (WITH VERIFICATION).
