Uruguay celebrated two wins in three games played and occupied the second position at the annual Super 4 tournament in Venezuela. Uruguay are preparing for the upcoming South American Championship to be held in Argentina in mid-June. Uruguay slowly started the tourney. They fell to ambitious Colombia 57:65 in the opener. Colombia strongly entered the game building a 38:24 lead. Uruguay could not recover in the second half allowing Colombia to earn the opening victory. Jayson Granger (186-G-89) posted 16 points to lead Uruguay. Joaquin Osimani (193-G-87) contributed 12 points in the losing effort. Uruguay rebounded in the second game of the competition. They faced Chile and earned a hard-fought 58:52 win at the end. Next Uruguay took on hosting Venezuela. The teams were tied at 12 after ten minutes but Uruguay increased the tempo in the second quarter and built a 31:23 halftime lead. Venezuela narrowed the margin to a single point at the final intermission but the visitors hang on to escape with a 65:56 win at the end. Jayson Granger delivered 13 points for the winners. Joaquin Osimani and Marcos Cabot (178-PG-89) added 8 points each for Uruguay. Yorman Zamora (190-F-89) answered with game-high 17 points for Venezuela.
