American Justin Keenan (202-F/C-88) had a very impressive game in the last round for league's leader Trouville and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 25. The 24-year old power forward had a double-double of 41 points and twelve rebounds, while his team beat Larre Borges (#15, 5-20) 94-86. It allowed Trouville to jump to the first place in the Uruguayan LUB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Trouville has a very solid 18-6 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. Keenan turned to be Trouville's top player in his first season with the team. Ferris State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Keenan is in league's top in points (2nd best: 27.3ppg) and averages solid 58.8% FGP.
The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 27-year old American center Dwayne Curtis (203-C-85) of Bohemios. Curtis impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 24 points and 11 rebounds. Of course he lead Bohemios to another comfortable win outscoring the higher-ranked Un.Atletica (#2, 18-7) 91-69. Bohemios' 7th position in South has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 14-11 record is not bad and everything may still change. Curtis is a newcomer at Bohemios and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.
The third best performed player last round was Alejandro Perez (200-F-78) of Cordon (#12). Perez showcased his all-around game by recording 23 points, eleven rebounds (!!!) and four assists in the last round. He was a key player of Cordon, leading his team to a 92-88 win against slightly higher-ranked Defensor (#11, 11-13). The chances of Cordon not to end season at such low position in South, however are less than slim as they have already lost 16 games, recording just eight victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Perez could try to bring Cordon's a little bit higher in the standings. Perez has a very solid season. In 22 games in Uruguay he scored 11.8ppg. He also has 6.2rpg and FGP: 51.2%.
