Mildon Ambres agreed terms with CSU Sibiu, ex Nacional - Jan 6, 2013

CSU Atlassib Sibiu (Division A) strengthened their roster with addition of 29-year old American swingman Mildon Ambres (198-103kg-84, college: S.Nazarene). He played recently at Nacional in Uruguayan LUB league. In 11 games this season he recorded very impressive stats: 19.4ppg, 6.6rpg, 1.4apg and 1.1spg. The last summer Ambres played at CDP Domingo Paulino Santiago in Dominican Rep. Santiago League. He also played at Idaho Stampede in D-League earlier that season. In 18 games last season he averaged 10.4ppg and 4.3rpg. The previous (10-11) season Ambres played at Forca Lleida (previous name Lleida) in Spanish LEB Gold. In 30 games that year he averaged 9.2ppg and 3.9rpg. In 2008 (a year after he left the college) Ambres was drafted by Idaho Stampede (D-League) in fifth round (67th overall). He attended Southern Nazarene University (NAIA) until 2007 and it will be his sixth season in pro basketball. Among other achievements Ambres college team won SAC Tournament in 2007. He received also USBasket.com All-D-League Most Improved Player of the Year award back in 2010. Ambres has played also professionally in Philippines (Barangay Ginebra), Romania (Brasov) and Spain (Lleida Basquet).
Jeremis Smith (203-F-86, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Pro Sports) scored 17 points and added 5 assists while Dwayne Curtis (203-C-85, college: Mississippi) finished with a double-double (11 points and 11 rebounds) when Aguada defeated, Hebraica Macabi, the defending champions, 98-87. Bigua defeated Urunday 90-81 and Larre Borges defeated Malvin 78-67 and the four teams are now leading the Uruguayan league with a 4-2 record. Ricardo Glenn (202-C-90, college: USC Upstate, agency: HMS) was the main scorer for Bigua with 23 points and he added 16 rebounds, while Richard Chaney (196-G-84, college: Troy) added 11 points. Sonic Boom KT (KBL) strengthened their roster with addition of 33-year old American forward Jasper Johnson (203-116kg-83, college: Delta State, agency: HMS). It is actually his comeback to Busan as he has played here before. Johnson played most recently at Defensor in Uruguayan LUB league. Sonic Boom KT (KBL) strengthened their roster with addition of 33-year old American forward Jasper Johnson (203-116kg-83, college: Delta State, agency: HMS). It is actually his comeback to Busan as he has played here before. Johnson played most recently at Defensor in Uruguayan LUB league. In 11 games he recorded very impressive stats: 16.5ppg, 6.1rpg, 1.4apg and 1.5spg last season. He helped them to win the regular season and make it to the final. Johnson also played that season for Sonic Boom where in 8 KBL games he averaged remarkable 21.9ppg, 7.4rpg, 4.8apg and 1.5spg. The other team Johnson played that season for was Goyang Orions. In 18 KBL games he had 13.7ppg, 5.2rpg, 3.2apg and 1.6spg. Johnson also spent pre-season at Iwate Big Bulls (BJ League) in Japan that year. In 2008 (two years after he left the college) Johnson was drafted by Los Angeles D-Fenders (D-League) in first round (13th overall). He attended Delta State (NCAA Div.II) until 2006 and it will be his eleventh (!!!) season in pro basketball. Among other achievements Johnson received Asia-Basket.com All-Korean KBL Honorable Mention award in 2014. He is a very experienced player. Thanks to Johnson's pro career he managed to play on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America) in five different countries. Johnson has played previously professionally in Argentina (Libertad Sunchales and La Union), Brazil (Minas), Israel (Bnei Hasharon), Korea (Samsung Thunders and SK Knights) and D-League (N.Mexico T.).
