Gustavo
Barrera
Naturalized Spanish Gustavo Barrera (194-G-85) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Hebraica and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 28.
The 27-year old guard got a double-double of 19 points and eleven assists, while his team beat Welcome (#13, 9-18) 82-75. Hebraica is placed at 4th position in Spanish LUB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Hebraica will need more victories to improve their 19-9 record. In the team's last game Barrera had a remarkable 55.6% from 2-point range. It's his second year at Hebraica and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Barrera has impressive league stats. He is league's best passer with 7.5apg. Barrera is in league's top in and averages solid 55.6% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 27-year old guard Diego Pereyra (184-G-85) of Montevideo. Pereyra impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 18 points and 10 assists. Bad luck as Montevideo lost that game 99-105 to the higher-ranked Aguada (#6, 17-11). This loss caused Montevideo to drop to 9th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 14-14 record is not bad and everything may still change. Pereyra is a newcomer at Montevideo and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was American Jon Rogers (204-C-84) of Un.Atletica (#5). Rogers scored 22 points and grabbed eight rebounds. He was a key player of Un.Atletica, leading his team to a 89-77 win against slightly higher-ranked Bigua (#3, 20-8). Un.Atletica needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 19 victories and 9 lost games. Rogers has a very solid season. In 27 games in Uruguay he scored 11.5ppg. He also has 8.3rpg, 2.1bpg and FGP: 56.6%. Rogers attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Nakiea Miller (204-C-79) of Larre Borges - 20 points, 13 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Emiliano Baston (200-F-88) of Montevideo - 27 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists
6. Gregory Dilligard (203-F-85) of Aguada - 23 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Dwayne Curtis (203-C-85) of Bohemios - 27 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Pablo Morales (200-F-79) of Aguada - 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists
9. Krys Faber (208-C) of Welcome - 14 points, 13 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Claudio Bascou (189-G-89) of Trouville - 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

American Paul Harrison (203-C-89) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's second-best Sayago and that's him to receive a Latinbasket.com Ascenso Player of the Week award for round 6.
