Rian Pearson
American Forward Rian Pearson (193-F-90) put on an amazing game in the last round for Malvin, receiving a Player of the Week award for round 7 (Second Stage).
The 26-year old player had a double-double of 29 points and 10 rebounds, while his team beat U Universitario (#2, 5-2) 82-67. Malvin is placed at 5th position in their group in Uruguayan LUB. Malvin is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. But it was their 4th lost game this season out of 7 games. Pearson turned to be Malvin's top player in his first season with the team. Rian Pearson averages this season 15.4ppg and 6.3rpg.

The second best player in last round's games was 23-year old Dominican Rep. Juan Guerrero (201-F-93, agency: Basket Management Solutions) of Cordon. Guerrero had a very good evening with a double-double of 28 points and 20 rebounds. It was enough for Cordon to edge Sayago (1-7) 99-93. This victory allowed Cordon to move up to 5th position in Perman.. 7 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Cordon managed to get this Second Stage. Guerrero is a newcomer at Cordon, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Cordon's star - American forward Tim Jennings (193-F-83). Jennings showcased his all-around game by recording 29 points, five rebounds and seven assists in the last round. He was another key player of Cordon, helping his team with a 99-93 win against Sayago (1-7). Cordon can only dream about fighting for top spots in Perman.. They have rather bad season and 1-7 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Jennings he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Jennings has a very solid season. In 20 games in Uruguay he scored 16.7ppg. He also has 4.2rpg and 4.3apg. Jennings attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball.

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
