Anthony
Young
27-year old forward Anthony Young (200-F-89, agency: Interperformances) had a great game in the last round for Larre Borges and receives a Latinbasket.com Player of the Week award for round 9 (Second Stage).
He had a double-double of 31 points and 10 rebounds, while his team beat Malvin (#5, 4-5) 80-72. Larre Borges is placed at 6th position in their group in Uruguayan league. Larre Borges is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. But it was their 5th lost game this season out of 8 games. Young turned to be Larre Borges' top player in his first season with the team. Kentucky Wesleyan College graduate has very impressive stats this year. Young is league's best scorer averaging so far 27.4ppg. Young

Second best performed player last round was Calvin Warner (201-F-80) of Promocional 2 top-ranked Goes. He is American forward in his first season at Goes. In the last game Warner recorded impressive double-double of 20 points and 19 rebounds. Of course he led Goes to another comfortable win 75-60 over slightly lower-ranked Welcome (#2, 6-3) being unquestionably team leader. Of course Goes still keep Perman.'s top spot. His team lost just one game this Second Stage, while they won 8 matches. Warner is a newcomer at Goes and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Trevante Drye (200-F-93) of Sayago (#5). Drye showcased his all-around game by recording 15 points, twenty rebounds (!!!) and four assists in the last round. He was a key player of Sayago, leading his team to a 77-71 win against slightly higher-ranked Olimpia (#3, 5-4). Sayago can only dream about fighting for top spots in Perman.. They have rather bad season and 2-7 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Drye he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Drye has individually a great season in Uruguay. After 22 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.6ppg (5th best) and rebounds with 11.6rpg (4th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Tim Jennings (193-F-83) of Cordon - 25 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists
5. Gaston Semiglia (192-F-91) of U Atletica - 30 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists
6. Jeremis Smith (203-F-86) of Aguada - 18 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists
7. James Williams (204-C-79) of Welcome - 14 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists
8. Ricardo Glenn (202-C-90) of Bigua - 18 points and 12 rebounds
9. Maximiliano Cervi (198-F-92) of Cordon - 24 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Shaquille Johnson (190-F-90) of U Universitario - 25 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
