Kyle Lamonte
Ciclista Olimpico de La Banda (LigaA) signed 33-year old American guard Kyle Lamonte (191-86kg-84, college: William Carey). He played recently at Atletico Aguada in Uruguayan LUB league. Quite impressive season as he was named to Uruguay LUB All-Star Game and to the All-Star Game 3-Point Shootout. Lamonte also played earlier that season for Olimpia (also in LUB) where in 12 games he had very remarkable stats: 19.4ppg, 4.7rpg, 4.2apg and 2.0spg this season. It was another spectacular year as he was named to Uruguay LUB All-Star Game and to the All-Star Game 3-Point Shootout.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Lamonte's team won Colombian Liga DirecTV-1 Group 1 Regular Season in 2014. He was also voted Latinbasket.com All-Colombian Liga DirecTV-1 Guard of the Year back in 2014.
Lamonte is quite experienced player. He has played in eight different countries on three different continents (Europe, Latin America and of course North America). Lamonte has played previously professionally in Brazil (Flamengo and Brasilia), Dominican Rep., Lithuania (P.Zvaigzdes), Turkey, Argentina (Atenas and Penarol), Uruguay (Hebraica and Malvin), Dominican Republic (CDP Domingo Paulino Santiago and Don Bosco) and Colombia (Guerreros).
He is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league on the market.
Lamonte attended William Carey University until 2008 and it is his ninth season as a professional player.
He could be described: An undersized 2 player, who has great shooting accuracy and points production per minute. Gives his best when he attacks the basket inside, in this situation cen be unstoppable. Also, he's a good defensive player, who is very agile but a little limited by his size. The same, he grabs more rebounds than expected.
