We bring you last week's top performances from Uruguayans who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is former international guard Jayson Granger (189-89, currently plays in Turkey). Granger led Anadolu Efes to an easy victory against the ninth-ranked Tofas (10-11) crushing them 81-58 in the Turkish BSL in Monday night's game. He scored 11 points in a mere 17 minutes on the court. Anadolu Efes Istanbul (18-2) is placed second in the BSL. It was his team's seventh consecutive victory in a row. This year Granger averages: 8.2ppg, 2.8rpg, 5.9apg, 1.5spg, 2FGP: 44.3%, 3FGP: 41.7% and FT: 68.6% in 17 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Uruguayan and Italian. Worth to mention he played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball. Granger played for the Uruguayan senior national team two years ago.

   #2. Second place goes to an international center Mathias Calfani (204-92, agency: Pro Sports, currently plays in Argentina). He led San Lorenzo to an easy victory against the eighth-ranked La Union (18-21) crushing them 88-64 in the Argentinian LigaA last Saturday. Calfani scored 12 points, grabbed 6 boards, handed out 3 passes and blocked 2 shots. San Lorenzo de Almagra (27-11) is placed first in Sur group. It's Calfani's first season with the team. He has relatively good stats this year: 10.3ppg, 6.7rpg, 1.9apg, 1.1bpg, 1.3spg, 2FGP: 63.9%(101-158), 3FGP: 34.2% and FT: 66.2%. Calfani is in the roster of the Uruguayan senior national team.

   #3. The Uruguayan player who performed third best last week abroad was former international point guard Santiago Vidal (180-89, also represented by Pro Sports, currently plays in Argentina). He led Regatas Corrientes to a victory against the sixth-ranked Quimsa (21-18) 94-82 in the Argentinian LigaA on Friday night. Vidal scored 11 points, made 7 passes and 3 steals in a mere 17 minutes. Regatas Corrientes (23-13) is placed third in Norte group. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. This year Vidal's overall stats are: 4.6ppg, 2.0rpg, 3.2apg, 2FGP: 53.8%, 3FGP: 36.2% and FT: 78.1% in 34 games. He played for the Uruguayan national team two years ago.

   #4. Point guard Bruno Fitipaldo (183-91, another player represented by Pro Sports, currently plays in Turkey) managed to help Galatasaray Odeabank Istanbul to win against the 11th-ranked Trabzonspor (7-13) 80-73 in the Turkish BSL in Sunday night's game. Fitipaldo scored only 3 points. Galatasaray Odeabank Istanbul (14-5) is placed fourth in the BSL. Fitipaldo's total stats this season are: 7.1ppg, 1.1rpg and 2.5apg. He is also Uruguayan national team player.

Former international forward Maximiliano Sole (198-88, agency: Duran International, currently plays in Spain) led Real Madrid II to a victory over the fifth-ranked Azuqueca (15-8) 64-60 in the Spanish EBA (fourth division) in Saturday night's game. He was MVP of the game. Sole recorded 16 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in a mere 18 minutes. Real Madrid II (18-5) is placed third in Group B. It was his team's ninth consecutive victory in a row. This year Sole has relatively solid stats: 11.7ppg, 8.3rpg, 2.6apg and 1.7spg in 23 games. He is another player who holds two passports: Uruguayan and Greek. Sole used to play for the Uruguayan national team two years ago.

   #6. An experienced forward Martin Volf (198-80, currently plays in Czech Republic) was the major contributor in a 2-point BK Loko Plzen's victory against the sixth-ranked Sokol Slapanice (2-5) 78-76 in the Czech Republic 1Liga (second division) last Friday. He scored 14 points. BK Lokomotiva Plzen (4-3) is placed third in Places 7-12 group. There are only three games left until the end of the Second Stage. So now every game will be critical. Volf has reliable stats this season: 11.1ppg and 3.0rpg. He is a former U21 international player as he played for the Uruguayan team seventeen years ago.

   #7. Former U18 international small forward Rodrigo Deus (195-97, currently plays in Spain) contributed to an easy victory against the 13th-ranked Sitges (3-16) crushing them 99-66 in the Spanish EBA (fourth division) in Sunday night's game. Deus recorded 10 points. Palma Air Europa II (11-8) is placed fifth in Group C-B. Deus' total stats this season are: 3.1ppg and 1.7rpg. He used to play for the Uruguayan U18 national team three years ago.


The list of other players, who all have Uruguayan passport but never been selected to any of Uruguayan national teams:

   #1. Facundo Medina (190-G-94, currently plays in Argentina) could not help Rocamora (12-17) in their last game. Despite Medina's very good performance the fifth-placed Rocamora (12-17) lost 75-87 on the road to the lower-ranked (#5) Atenas in the Center South group. He was the top scorer with 21 points in 34 minutes. It was Rocamora's third consecutive loss in a row. The Regular Season already ended. This year Medina has relatively solid stats: 12.2ppg, 2.0rpg and 1.5apg in 29 games he played so far.

   #2. Experienced Brad Kanis (218-C-83, agency: Gamble Sports Management, college: Grand Canyon, currently plays in Spain) was not able to help Quart (15-5) in their last game on Saturday. Despite his very good performance the second-placed Quart (15-5) was edged 71-68 on the opponent's court by the leading Mollet in the Group C-B. Kanis was the top scorer with 18 points. He also added 8 rebounds. This season Kanis has relatively solid stats: 11.7ppg and 5.3rpg. He is a naturalized American. Kanis used to play for Atletico Welcome in Uruguayan league.

   #3. Phillip Holm (175-PG-80, currently plays in Spain) was not able to secure a victory for CAM E.Soler (6-4) in their game against Huelva (4-6) in the Spanish EBA (fourth division). Holm cannot count Saturday's game as one of the best ones. He recorded only 3 points in 13 minutes. The second-placed CAM E.Soler (6-4) lost 70-76 on the opponent's court to the lower-ranked (#6) Huelva in the Group D Clasif. The Regular Season already ended. This year Holm's total stats are: 6.4ppg, 1.5rpg and 1.1apg in 17 games. He has a dual citizenship: Uruguayan and German.

Gustavo Barrera (194-G-85) scored 20 points and added 9 assists and 5 rebounds, leading Aguada to beat Hebraica Macabi 93-78, which is still leading 3-2 the final series for the best of seven Uruguayan League championship games.. Here is the weekly review of the top performing Uruguayan players, who play currently abroad. This week's number one is former international guard Jayson Granger (189-89). Granger could not help one of league's weakest teams Anadolu Efes (23-7) in their last game. Sebastian Izaguirre (207-C-85) netted a two points shote with 4 seconds to play for the overtime (82-82)and Hebraica Macabi defeated Aguada 91-89 to take a 3-1 lead for the best of seven Uruguayan League championship games. Aguada had maintained the lead during 38 minutos, but a two points shot by Jaime Lloreda (204-C-80, college: LSU) sent the game to overtime.
