Barquisimeto, Venezuela.- Escuela Pedagogica de Baloncesto (EPB) and Yaracuyanas got one step closer to their main goal, which is to play the LINABAFE 2010 Finals, as they were able to defeat Lanceras de Guarico and Estudiantes, respectively, in the last weekend of the Round Robin. Estudiantes is officially out of the race for a spot in the next round.
EPB won 89-86 against Lanceras at Manuel Gallegos Carratu Arena of Caracas. They experienced an important comeback in the second quarter, after beginning it down 25-17. They were able to react and went to halftime ahead in the scoreboard, 48-40. Even though Guarico won the next quarters 16-17 (64-57) and 25-29, it wasn't enough.
Meanwhile, Yaracuyanas defeated Estudiantes 94-82 at Nicolas Ojeda Parra Arena of San Felipe. The first quarter ended with a 21-21 tie and from then on Yaracuyanos got in control of the action, taking the second partial 28-16 (49-37), loosing the third 20-22 (69-59) and taking the last one, 25-23.

Meanwhle, Perez added 2 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals in 16 minutes coming off the bench. Both players are former players of Venezuela's National Team and former Distrito Capital State stars.
Weatherford finished with a 24-5 overall record. They had defeated Odessa (95-64) and New Mexico JC (77-71) to get to the Finals. Blanco averages 9.6 points, 9.8 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game in 23 games according to the last updated stats info of the NJCAA site. Meanwhile, Perez averages 5.6 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game in 15 games.

Barquisimeto, Venezuela.- Venezuelan PG Roselis Silva (167-G-91) and the Arkansas Tech Golden Suns were able to pull off a win over SW Oklahoma State, 70-66 in over time, at Bruin Fieldhouse in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, to win the American Conference Championship in the NCAA's Division II action.
Silva was one of the bright spots for her team, as she managed to support them with 14 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals in 43 minutes of action, as she netted 4 of 16 two-point shots, 1 of 4 three-pointers and 3 of 4 free throws.
The Venezuelan young talent was named to the All-Star Team of the short tournament and will now take on the Regional Tournament. The first game will be on March 15th against Minnesota State. Silva averages 15.3 points, 5.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game in 29 games, 28 as a starter.

Then, she lost against Fort Hays State (L 81-52) despites finishing up with 12 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 6 steals.
Her team was also taken down by Washburn (L 77-65) on November 24th. She had her first double double of the season with 12 points, 12 assists and adding 4 rebounds, 3 steals and a block.
In her first conference game of the regular season, the Golden Suns defeated Southern Nazarene, 81-61. Silva supported her team with 10 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals.
After these 4 games, Silva is averaging 9.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 4.5 steals per game.
