Barquisimeto, Venezuela.- The Senior NT of Venezuela got its second straight victory in the 2012 Super 4 Israel Sarmiento Tournament played at the Forum of Valencia, Venezuela, this time over Colombia, 80-62, while Uruguay woke up from an astonishing Day 1 defeat against Colombia, by winning in their second game against Chile, 58-52.
Marriaga got the best out of his paint-game abilities and Venezuela took over the first quarter, 25-19. Zamora continued to impress everybody with his mid range and long range shooting and his accurate free-throw shots, even though he had spent over a month without official games back in Spain's ACB.
Colombia's only productive weapon was Stalin Ortiz (190-G-81). Head coach Hernan Dario Giraldo was ejected in the second quarter because he verbally offended referee Khaled El Halad. Marriaga and Zamora kept things going and Venezuela took command of the situation in the second quarter, 52-30.
Even though Colombia played a little better in the third partial (68-49) thanks to John Hernandez (207-C) and his rebounds, it wasn't enough. Zamora led Venezuela with 18 points, including three shots from the long range, Miguel Marriaga added 12 points and Jose Juan Bravo (202-C-86) finished up with 11. For Colombia, Stalin Ortiz netted 34 and Divier Perez (201-F/C-89) followed him with 7.
Greenberg was happy to see everyone involved in the team goals and getting quality minutes on court. 'Today we had the chance to give minutes to everybody in an uniform and each one of them played at least 11 minutes'.
In regards to what they did on court, he said that 'we're improving and it's necesary to play these games to see how the team reacts. Besides, we've added players that haven't had the chance to practice with the group. They're all playing very well defensively and there's a positive attitude because they want to be a team, they want to help each other and that's very important'.
PG Gregory Vargas, currently playing the LPB 2012 Finals but who had the chance to travel to Valencia to play in these games, had positive things to say about it. 'Nowadays, Venezuela has a great team with a lot of young players and we're all in a beautiful competition to earn one spot. The most important thing is that we're all focused about being a team and today we showed that. Today we did the extra pass and we helped each other on defense'
Meanwhile, Uruguay did not make significant improvements in their game, but still managed to defeated Chile, 58-52. Uruguay has a 1-1 record, like Colombia, while Chile is now 0-2 prior to the last day, in which Colombia and Chile will play at 1.00pm and Venezuela will face Uruguay for the trophy at 3.00pm.

Two years ago Summers was drafted by Maine Red Claws (D-League) in second round (8th overall). He attended Michigan State until 2011 and it will be his second season in pro basketball. Among other achievements Summers' team made it to the Big Ten Tournament Semifinals in 2008, 2009 and 2011. Let's have closer look into His outlook: Possesses great length and is a true athlete. Summers can get to the basket past anyone, and often goes to the line because of it. In addition to his ability to drive, Summers hits the outside shot with ease and extremely efficient when spotting up or coming off the pick-and-roll. His size and strength make him incredibly hard to defend for smaller defenders, often creating a mismatch opportunity. His quickness and athleticism allow him to move well off the ball, coming around screens and creating space. Defensively his where Summers shines. His lateral quickness, length, and ability to change directions fluidly, while having the fundamentals and effort level to go along with it make Summers a great defender.
