31-year old guard Jesus Centeno (190-G-85) put on an amazing game in the last round for Marinos and receives a Latinbasket.com Player of the Week award for round 12. He had the game-high 20 points adding three rebounds and six assists for Marinos in his team's victory, helping them to beat Gigantes (#3, 10-12) 82-73. Marinos maintains the 4th position in their group in Venezuelan league. Marinos is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 8-10 record. Centeno just recently signed at Marinos, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Jesus Centeno averages this season 10.7ppg.
Second best performed player last round was Ricky Tarrant (188-G-93) of Gigantes. He is American guard in his first season at Gigantes. In the last game Tarrant recorded impressive 27 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as Gigantes lost that game 73-82 to slightly lower-ranked Marinos (#4, 8-10). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the top position in Eastern Conference. Gigantes still maintains its place in the top 3 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 10-12 record. Tarrant is one of the most experienced players at Gigantes and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.8ppg (#5). He also recorded 3.3 assists per game.
Third place about best performers goes to another Marinos' star - Christophe Massie (206-C/F-77). Massie scored 19 points and grabbed twelve rebounds (!!!). He was another key player of Marinos, helping his team with a 82-73 win against #3 ranked Gigantes. The chances of Marinos ranking at the top of Eastern Conference, however are very questionable as they have already lost 10 games, recording just eight victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Massie could help Marinos to bring them higher in the standings. Massie has a very solid season. In 2 games in Venezuela he scored 16.5ppg.
Other top performing players last week: 4. John Flowers (200-F-89) of Cocodrilos - 26 points and 12 rebounds 5. Al Thornton (203-F-83) of Gaiteros - 34 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists 6. Luis Bethelmy (200-F/C-86) of Guaros - 18 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists 7. Kyle Fuller (185-PG-92) of Toros - 31 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists 8. Quinnel Brown (198-SF-83) of Gigantes - 21 points and 8 rebounds 9. Ricardo Powell (199-F-83) of Trotamundos - 22 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists 10. Lazar Hayward (225-SF-86) of Guaros - 22 points and 6 rebounds
The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

The last season Becker played at Paschoalotto/Bauru (also in NBB) where in 23 games he recorded 7.4ppg and 3.9rpg. He helped them to make it to the final after they ended regular season as second best team.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Becker was voted Latinbasket.com All-Brazilian League 2nd Team back in 2009 and 2014.
He also played at the South American Championships for Clubs nine years ago. Becker has played on three different continents (Europe, Latin America and of course North America). He has played previously professionally also in Bulgaria (Lukoil Academic Sofia), Israel (Maccabi Fox Tel-Aviv) and Brazil (Vivo/Franca, Minas, COC Ribeirao and Sao Jose/Vinac).
Becker could be described:
Positives: Murilo has great size for a power forward. Plays Center in Brazil and is dominant, although he is not that big. Good rebounder, runs the floor well and is quick for his size. Deals very well with bigger guys. Nice touch on short distance shots and midrange shots. Not a terrible 3pt shooter, although he doesn't shoot that much from the outside.
Negatives: Not that athletic when compared to most NBA power forwards. Does not have good size to be an NBA center, and he isn't athletic enough to guard quicker power forwards. Commits too many fouls and can easily get into foul trouble. Does not have much of a post up game.
