Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Venezuelans who are currently playing abroad.

Greivis Vasquez
Greivis Vasquez
#1. This week's number one is an international point guard Greivis Vasquez (197-87, agency: Interperformances, college: Maryland, currently plays in NBA). He led New Orleans Hornets to a victory over the Los Angeles Clippers (10-6) 105-98 in the NBA in Monday night's game. Vasquez was MVP of the game. He had a double-double by scoring 25 points and making 10 passes. Vasquez also added 6 rebounds in 37 minutes on the court; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his third season in pro basketball. The New Orleans Hornets have not so impressive 4-11 record this season. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. Vasquez has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 13.1ppg, 3.8rpg, 8.7apg, 2FGP: 43.4%, 3FGP: 36.4% and FT: 79.5% in the 15 games he played so far. Vasquez is currently a member of the Venezuelan senior national team.

John Cox
John Cox
#2. Second place goes to an international guard John Cox (196-81, college: USF, currently plays in EuroChallenge). He was the major contributor in Paris-Levallois' victory against the fourth-ranked Pitesti (0-4) 84-70 in the EuroChallenge last Tuesday. Cox recorded 18 points and added 3 passes. Paris-Levallois (3-1) is placed first in group E. There are only two games left until the end of the EuroChallenge Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's Cox's first season with the team. His overall stats this year are: 7.8ppg, 1.5rpg, 2.0apg, 2FGP: 36.4%, 3FGP: 37.5% and FT: 66.7%. Cox is a naturalized American. He is in the roster of the Venezuelan senior national team. Cox used to play for Marinos de Anzoategui in Venezuelan league.

Luis Bethelmy
Luis Bethelmy
#3. The Venezuelan player who performed third best last week abroad was an international power forward Luis Bethelmy (200-86, currently plays in Mexico). He contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Pioneros (19-9) crushing them 105-81 in the Mexican LNBP (second division) on Saturday night. Bethelmy recorded 17 points, 9 rebounds and 3 blocks (made all of his six free throws) in 25 minutes. Halcones Rojos de Veracruz (21-7) is placed third in the LNBP. Bethelmy has very impressive stats this year: 15.9ppg, 6.7rpg, 1.2apg, 2FGP: 64.7%(88-136), 3FGP: 42.4% and FT: 68.0% in the 22 games. He is also a member of the Venezuelan senior national team.

Jose Vargas
Jose Vargas
#4. Swingman Jose Vargas (195-82, currently plays in Mexico) contributed to Soles' victory against the closely-ranked Halcones Rojos (21-7) 80-67 in the Mexican LNBP (second division) in Thursday night's game. Vargas recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and getting the same number of rebounds. He also added 3 assists. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Soles de Mexicali (23-5) is placed second in the LNBP. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. Vargas has relatively good stats this season: 11.5ppg, 6.3rpg and 3.0apg. He is also Venezuelan national team player.

Gregory Echenique
Gregory Echenique
#5. International center Gregory Echenique (206-90, currently plays college basketball in the States) contributed to an easy victory against the Saint Joseph's University crushing them 80-51 in the NCAA last Saturday. Echenique scored 16 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 27 minutes. The Creighton University has conference record this season. This year Echenique has relatively solid stats: 11.5ppg, 6.3rpg and 3.0apg in the eight games. He plays currently for the Venezuelan national team.

Michael Carrera
Michael Carrera
#6. Forward Michael Carrera (196-93, currently studies in the States), who plays in the NCAA could not help the S.Carolina in their last game on Thursday. Despite Carrera's good performance the S.Carolina was crushed 89-65 on the road by the St.John's University. He recorded a double-double by scoring 11 points and getting the same number of rebounds. Carrera has reliable stats this season: 11.5ppg, 6.3rpg and 3.0apg. He is a naturalized American. Carrera is an international player who is currently on the senior Venezuelan National Team roster. This year Coronado's overall stats are: 3.8ppg and 2.3rpg in the nine games. He is also Venezuelan national team player.

Javier Roman (207-F/C-80, currently plays in Spain), who plays in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) could not help one of league's weakest teams Leyma Basquet (5-4) to beat Leche Rio Breogan (6-3). Roman scored 5 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 17 minutes. Leyma Basquet was edged 71-69 on the road by the higher-ranked (#5) Leche Rio Breogan. It was Leyma Basquet's fourth consecutive loss in a row. But the season just started, so everything may happen. This year Roman's overall stats are: 3.8ppg and 2.3rpg in the nine games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Venezuelan and Spanish.

#2. Denny Burguillos (201-F-89, currently plays college basketball in the States) was not able to help the Georgia St. in their game against the Louisiana Tech University in the NCAA.
