Outstanding Venezuelan combo guard Fernando Lucena (185-G-86), one of the top 4 three points shooters of the past 2012 professional basketball league of Venezuela (LPB), hasn't stop playing and improving on his basketball position since his last game with Toros de Aragua of the referred season.
Immediately that Toros de Aragua went out of the 2012 LPB season, the shooter from Distrito Capital got invited to play in Colombia basketball league but he rather stay in Venezuela to join Guacharos de Monagas to play the 2012 Venezuela National League " I appreciated the invitation I received to play ball in Colombia, but Coach Nestor Salazar, whom I think is in Venezuela the main basketball coach, invited me to play with Guacharos de Monagas. I couldn't miss this great chance to play for him; it was an obvious choice" Fernando Lucena; Guacharos de Monagas had tremendous 2012 season but it lost the 2012 championship game versus Bravos in five excited games. Fernando Lucena played a pivotal role during the whole 2012 season with Monagas.
The shooter from Chacao Fernando Lucena is now playing the Christmas Cup basketball tournament of Guiria, Sucre State. Last night Thursday December 27 of 2012 he scored 31 points with 7 assists to help 8th Street Basketball team defeated Fundacion BBC 95-86 during the first game of the championship series. Despite the defeated David Cedeno (190-G-83) scored 24 points for Fundacion basketball team.

Here is the weekly review of the top performing Venezuelan players, who play currently abroad. This week's number one is former international point guard David Cubillan (181-87, agency: Pro Sports). He could not help Flamengo (25-3) in their last game. The 28-year old power forward had a double-double of 19 points and eleven rebounds, while his team edged out Cocodrilos (#4, 0-2), the league's bottom-ranked team 92-88. There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Regular Season in LPB. Here is the last round review presented by ESL. An exciting game was played in Valencia. Trotamundos faced Cocodrilos. Host Trotamundos (2-0) defeated guests from Caracas (0-2) 84-79. Trotamundos outrebounded Cocodrilos 42-27 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds.
