Rafael Perez
Barquisimeto, Venezuela.- Marinos de Anzoategui performed another trade in the Venezuelan players market prior to the beginning of the 2017 edition of Liga Profesional (LPB), by sending PF Pedro Brito (204-F/C-82, college: San Jacinto), SG-SF Jorge Rondon (193-G/F-90) and SF Drexler Mejias (197-F-93, college: Weatherford JC) to Toros de Aragua for former Venezuela's Senior NT SG-SF Rafael Perez (193-G/F-82, agency: Paris Global Sports).

Perez, a 34 year-old player, will play for his fifth LPB organization since 2003 (Trotamundos de Carabobo, Guaiqueries de Margarita, Bucaneros de La Guaira and Toros de Aragua) and has played in leagues of Puerto Rico (he has Puerto Rican passport), Mexico, Uruguay and Ecuador.

He averaged 15.1 points per game in 40 games in the LPB 2015-2016 season for Toros, helping them go back to the playoffs. He later spent some time playing in Venezuela's LNB for Estudiantes de Guarico and Cangrejeros de Monagas and then moved to Uruguay (Olimpia) and Ecuador (Club Iccan) to finish the year.

Meanwhile, Brito, 34 years old, was part of Marinos but was loaned to Cocodrilos de Caracas for the 2015-2016 season, winning the LPB championship in a bench role. He will play for his eighth LPB organization and just finished playing for CDE Espanol de Talca in Chile.

Rondon is a sharp shooter, 26 years old, who will play for his fifth LPB organization after previous stints playing for Guaiqueries de Margarita, Bucaneros de La Guaira, Panteras de Miranda and Toros de Aragua.

Mejias is a former prospect of Panteras de Miranda and part of Venezuela's U15 and U17 NT who's never gotten enough minutes to prove his skills in LPB and Toros will be his third LPB organization.
