There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Regular Season in LPB.

The most exciting game of round 2 in the LPB took place in Caracas. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of Panteras (0-2) to Bucaneros (2-2) 77-75 on Friday evening. Panteras trailed by 15 points after 3 quarters before a 25-12 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 75-77 at the end of the game. The best player for the winners was the former international guard John Cox (194-81, college: USF, agency: Pensack Sports) who scored 24 points and 4 assists. American swingman Jordan Hamilton (201-90, college: Texas) chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds. American Trey Gilder (206-85, college: Northwestern St.) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Bucaneros are looking forward to face Toros (#4) in Maracay in the next round. Panteras' supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Caracas Cocodrilos.

Swingman Jordan Hamilton (201-90, college: Texas) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points and 9 rebounds. Kristoffer Lang contributed with 11 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Bucaneros' coach Luis Guil allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Forward Herbert Hill (208-84, college: Providence) replied with 12 points and 7 rebounds for Panteras. Bucaneros will play against Toros (#4) in Maracay in the next round. Panteras' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Caracas Cocodrilos.

Trotamundos' coach Ruben Magnano used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cesar Silva responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. Trotamundos will meet at home Gaiteros (#5) in the next round. Guaiqueries will play against Guaros and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

The best player for the winners was Maurice Sutton who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Cocodrilos' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Caracas to the arena Panteras.

In the last game of round 2 Cocodrilos defeated Gaiteros in Caracas 69-62.
The best stats of 2nd round was 19 points and 10 assists by David Cubillan of Trotamundos.

Gaiteros - Cocodrilos 66-77

The game in Maracaibo was also quite interesting. Cocodrilos (4-0) played at the court of Gaiteros (0-2). Cocodrilos defeated Gaiteros 77-66 on Saturday. Cocodrilos forced 20 Gaiteros turnovers. Gaiteros were plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American center Maurice Sutton (211-89, college: Villanova) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. The other American import forward John Flowers (200-89, college: W.Virginia) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds. Dominican Juan-Miguel Suero (196-93) produced 18 points and American forward Al Thornton (203-83, college: Florida St.) added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Cocodrilos' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Caracas to the arena Panteras.

Former international Forward Axiers Sucre (199-F-78) put on an amazing game in the last round for second-ranked Gigantes, receiving a Latinbasket.com Player of the Week award for round 7. The 38-year old player had a double-double of 25 points and 15 rebounds, while his team edged out Toros (#5, 3-7) 96-94. Gigantes maintains the 2nd position in their group in Venezuelan LPB. The most crucial game of the last round was another loss of top-ranked Bucaneros (8-6) in Barquisimeto on Sunday night. Visitors were edged by third ranked Guaros (3-5) 92-90.
