The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with defeat of the leader, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Bucaneros (7-5) in La Guaira on Wednesday night. Hosts were defeated by second ranked Trotamundos (6-4) 77-71. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Bucaneros. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Strangely Bucaneros outrebounded Trotamundos 40-27 including 30 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for American forward Ricardo Powell (199-83, college: S.Carolina) who led his team to a victory with 29 points and 6 rebounds. The other American import forward Josh Powell (206-83, college: N.Carolina St.) contributed with 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American swingman Jordan Hamilton (201-90, college: Texas) replied with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds for Bucaneros. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Trotamundos maintains second position with 6-4 record having seven points less than leader Bucaneros. Bucaneros at the other side still keep top place with five games lost. Trotamundos are looking forward to face league's leader Cocodrilos in Caracas in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Bucaneros will play on the road against Guaros in Barquisimeto and are hoping to win this game.
Important game to mention about took place in Maracaibo. Fifth ranked Toros (2-6) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 3rd ranked Gaiteros (3-5) 91-88 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Gaiteros. American-Peruvian point guard Kyle Fuller (185-92, college: Vanderbilt) scored 22 points and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Kelvin Pena chipped in 16 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Toros' coach Ivan Garcia allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The best for the losing side was Dominican Juan-Miguel Suero (198-93) with 25 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Toros maintains fifth position with 2-6 record. Gaiteros at the other side keep the third place with five games lost. They share the position with Marinos. Toros will play against league's second-placed Gigantes in Puerto Ordaz in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Gaiteros will play at home against Marinos and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Panteras will meet higher ranked Guaiqueries (#3) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Gigantes will play against Toros and hope to secure a win.
An interesting game for Cocodrilos (11-1) which hosted in Caracas 3rd ranked Guaiqueries (4-6). First ranked Cocodrilos had an easy win 94-69. The best player for the winners was Maurice Sutton who had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Cocodrilos have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 11-1 record. Guaiqueries lost third consecutive game. They keep the third place with six games lost. Cocodrilos' next round opponent will be league's second-placed Trotamundos in Valencia and it will be for sure the game of the week. Guaiqueries will play at home against Panteras and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
An interesting game for Bucaneros (7-5) which hosted in La Guaira second-best Trotamundos (6-4). First ranked Bucaneros managed to get a 6-point victory 87-81. It was a key game for the top position in the league. It was a good game for Jordan Hamilton who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 16 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Bucaneros maintains first position with 7-5 record. Loser Trotamundos keep the second place with four games lost. Bucaneros will face Guaros (#4) in Barquisimeto in the next round. Trotamundos will play at home against the league's leader Cocodrilos and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 6: Guaros beat Marinos on the road 91-86. Panteras lost to Gigantes on its own court 77-81. Guaros unfortunately lost to Marinos in Puerto La Cruz 88-99. Cocodrilos managed to beat Guaiqueries at home 92-80. Toros were defeated by Gaiteros on the opponent's court 98-86.
The most impressive performance of 6th round was 16 points and 13 rebounds by Lazar Hayward of Guaros.

Panteras - Gigantes 82-66

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Gigantes (5-3) against fifth ranked Panteras (3-7) on Thursday night. Visiting Gigantes were defeated by Panteras in Caracas 82-66. Panteras looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Gigantes' players. American Trey Gilder (206-85, college: Northwestern St.) notched 22 points and 7 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international power forward Luis Julio (201-80) supported him with 19 points and 7 rebounds. Even 20 points and 8 rebounds by American guard Ricky Tarrant (188-93, college: Memphis) did not help to save the game for Gigantes. Forward Albert Arias (194-89) added 8 points and 14 rebounds. Everything could happen in Maracaibo at the game between two tied teams. Both third ranked Gaiteros and 5th ranked Toros had identical 2-5 record. This time Gaiteros used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Maracay 98-86 on Tuesday night. Gaiteros outrebounded Toros 42-30 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for American forward Al Thornton (203-83, college: Florida St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds. The other American import center Julian Vaughn (208-88, college: Georgetown) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Five Gaiteros players scored in double figures. Dominican forward Juan Guerrero (201-93, agency: Basket Management Solutions) replied with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 14 rebounds and Dominican guard Kelvin Pena (193-80, college: Southeastern CC, agency: Basket Management Solutions) added 16 points and 4 assists in the effort for Toros. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Gaiteros maintains third position with 3-5 record having twelve points less than leader Bucaneros, which they share with Marinos. Loser Toros keep the fifth place with six games lost. Gaiteros will face Marinos (#4) in Puerto La Cruz in the next round. Toros will play on the road against the league's second-placed Gigantes in Puerto Ordaz and hope to win that game.
