There was no lack of interesting games this round. The round ended with defeat of the leader and favorites losing the games.

The most crucial game of the last round was another loss of top-ranked Bucaneros (8-6) in Barquisimeto on Sunday night. Visitors were edged by third ranked Guaros (3-5) 92-90. Guaros dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Bucaneros' 26. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Bucaneros helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for the former international swingman Jose Vargas (195-82, agency: Pro Sports) who led his team to a victory scoring 25 points and 4 assists. International center Gregory Echenique (206-90, college: Creighton, agency: Pensack Sports) helped adding 23 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). At the losing side international center Windi Graterol (204-86, agency: Pro Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Defending champion maintains third place with 3-5 record having sixteen points less than leader Bucaneros, which they share with Marinos and Gaiteros. Bucaneros at the other side still keep top position with six games lost. Guaros is looking forward to face league's leader Cocodrilos in Caracas in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Bucaneros will play on the road against Marinos in Puerto La Cruz and are hoping to win this game.

American Lazar Hayward (225-86, college: Marquette) came up with 17 points and 7 rebounds for Guaros in the defeat. Bucaneros maintains first place with 8-6 record. Defending champion Guaros keep the third position with five games lost. They share it with Marinos and Gaiteros. Bucaneros will play against Marinos (#4) in Puerto La Cruz in the next round. Guaros will play on the road against the league's leader Cocodrilos in Caracas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Toros maintains fifth place with 3-7 record. Loser Gigantes keep the second position with four games lost. Toros will meet at home higher ranked Guaiqueries (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gigantes will play against Gaiteros in Maracaibo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Worth to mention a great performance of Axiers Sucre who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points and 15 rebounds. Toros' coach Ivan Garcia tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Gigantes maintains second place with 6-4 record having eleven points less than leader Bucaneros. Toros at the other side keep the fifth position with seven games lost. Gigantes' next round opponent will be Gaiteros (#3) in Maracaibo, which may be the game of the day. Toros will play at home against Guaiqueries and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game between Top Four teams took place in Valencia. Their biggest opponent host Trotamundos (6-6) lost to first ranked Cocodrilos (13-1) 79-67. It was a great evening for John Flowers who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 9 rebounds. Cocodrilos' coach Nestor Salazar used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cocodrilos have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 13-1 record. Loser Trotamundos keep the second position with six games lost. Cocodrilos will face Guaros (#4) in Barquisimeto in the next round. Trotamundos will play on the road against Panteras in Caracas and hope to win that game.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 7: Panteras lost to Guaiqueries on the opponent's court 89-102. Guaiqueries outscored Panteras in a home game 92-73. Cocodrilos managed to beat Trotamundos on the road 79-75.

Gigantes - Toros 78-81

A very close game took place in Puerto Ordaz between Toros and Gigantes. Fifth ranked Toros (3-7) got a very close victory on the road over much higher ranked Gigantes (6-4). Toros managed to escape with a 3-point win 81-78 on Monday evening. Dominican forward Juan Guerrero (201-93) fired a double-double by scoring 18 points and 22 rebounds for the winners. American-Peruvian point guard Kyle Fuller (185-92, college: Vanderbilt) chipped in 21 points and 6 assists. Five Toros players scored in double figures. Toros' coach Ivan Garcia used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Rather expected game in Porlamar where 5th ranked Panteras (3-9) were defeated by third ranked Guaiqueries (6-6) 102-89 on Monday. Guaiqueries made 21-of-24 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a great evening for forward Marcus Melvin (206-82, college: N.Carolina St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points and 9 rebounds (made all of his eleven free throws !!!). Guard Devan Downey (175-87, college: S.Carolina, agency: Octagon Europe) helped adding 23 points and 7 assists. Four Guaiqueries players scored in double figures.
