Axiers Sucre
Former international Forward Axiers Sucre (199-F-78) put on an amazing game in the last round for second-ranked Gigantes, receiving a Latinbasket.com Player of the Week award for round 7.
The 38-year old player had a double-double of 25 points and 15 rebounds, while his team edged out Toros (#5, 3-7) 96-94. Gigantes maintains the 2nd position in their group in Venezuelan LPB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Gigantes will need more victories to improve their 6-4 record. In the team's last game Sucre had a remarkable 61.5% from 2-point range. He turned to be Gigantes' top player in his first season with the team. Axiers Sucre has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (7th best: 18.0ppg) and averages impressive 56.8% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was 24-year old American Kyle Fuller (185-PG-92) of Toros. Fuller had a very good evening with 25 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists. Bad luck as Toros was edged by the higher-ranked Gigantes (#2, 6-4) 96-94. Toros managed to keep the same 5th spot in Western Conference. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 3-7 record. Fuller is a newcomer at Toros, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.6ppg (#3).

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Marcus Melvin (206-F-82) of Guaiqueries (#3). Melvin scored 24 points and grabbed nine rebounds. He was a key player of Guaiqueries, leading his team to a 92-73 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Panteras (#5, 3-9). Guaiqueries needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams in Eastern Conference. Their record at this point is 6 victories and 6 lost games. Melvin has a great season in Venezuela. After 10 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 8.1rpg (4th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Gregory Echenique (206-C-90) of Guaros - 23 points and 7 rebounds
5. Juan Guerrero (201-F-93) of Toros - 18 points and 22 rebounds
6. Jose Vargas (195-G/F-82) of Guaros - 25 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists
7. John Flowers (200-F-89) of Cocodrilos - 20 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists
8. Josh Powell (206-F-83) of Trotamundos - 20 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Quinnel Brown (198-SF-83) of Gigantes - 25 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists
10. Devan Downey (175-G-87) of Guaiqueries - 23 points, 4 rebounds and 7 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
