Juan
Guerrero
23-year old forward Juan Guerrero (201-F-93, agency: Basket Management Solutions) had a great game in the last round for Toros and receives a Latinbasket.com Player of the Week award for round 9.
He had a double-double of 29 points and 16 rebounds, while his team was edged out by Trotamundos (#2, 10-6) 98-95. Toros maintains the 5th position in their group in Venezuelan league. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 11 games and recorded just three victories. In the team's last game Guerrero had a remarkable 68.8% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Toros, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Guerrero has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (3rd best: 17.1ppg), rebounds (3rd best: 10.0rpg) and averages solid 1.3bpg and 60.5% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Josh Powell (206-F-83) of league's second-best Trotamundos. He is American forward in his first season at Trotamundos. In the last game Powell recorded impressive double-double of 25 points and 12 rebounds. It was enough for Trotamundos to edge the lower-ranked Toros (#5, 3-11) by 6 points 78-72. Trotamundos' second position in Western Conference has not changed. His team's 10-6 record is not bad at all. Powell is one of the most experienced players at Trotamundos and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.4ppg (#8). He also registered 7.1 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to another Trotamundos' star - forward Ricardo Powell (199-F-83). Powell scored 26 points and grabbed six rebounds. He was another key player of Trotamundos, helping his team with a 98-95 win against the lower-ranked Toros (#5, 3-11). Trotamundos needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in Western Conference. Their record at this point is 10 victories and 6 lost games. Powell has a great season in Venezuela. After 14 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 16.3ppg (8th best). He also has FGP: 50.9% and 3PT: 41.3%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Juan Herrera (197-F-81) of Marinos - 19 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Kyle Fuller (185-PG-92) of Toros - 24 points and 8 rebounds
6. Lazar Hayward (225-SF-86) of Guaros - 23 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Morris Sierralta (190-G/F-87) of Panteras - 20 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists
8. Jesus Centeno (190-G-85) of Marinos - 19 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Jose Vargas (195-G/F-82) of Guaros - 21 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Al Thornton (203-F-83) of Gaiteros - 28 points and 10 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
