There was no lack of excitement in the last round games. The round ended with defeat of the leader and favorites losing the games.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Guaiqueries (11-7) in Maracaibo on Friday night. Visitors were rolled over by fourth ranked Gaiteros (5-9) 92-67. Gaiteros forced 19 Guaiqueries turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The former international forward Hernan Salcedo (198-80) had a double-double by scoring 11 points and 14 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Deivis Ananguren (192-85) chipped in 12 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American center Kentrell Gransberry (206-85, college: S.Florida) responded with 2 points and 16 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Gaiteros maintains fourth position with 5-9 record, which they share with Marinos. Guaiqueries at the other side still keep top place with seven games lost. They share the position with Trotamundos. Gaiteros is looking forward to face league's leader Cocodrilos in Caracas in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Guaiqueries will play at home against the league's second-placed Trotamundos and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Important game to mention about took place in Puerto Ordaz. Second ranked Trotamundos (11-7) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging 3rd ranked Gigantes (9-7) 86-85 on Saturday evening. Americans were the main players on the court. Forward Ricardo Powell (199-83, college: S.Carolina) notched 37 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the effort and Josh Powell supported him with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!). Even 27 points (made all of his seven free throws) by guard Ricky Tarrant (188-93, college: Memphis) did not help to save the game for Gigantes. Trotamundos used an opportunity after Guaiqueries lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Gigantes at the other side keep the third place with seven games lost. Trotamundos will play against league's leader Guaiqueries in Porlamar in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Gigantes will play at home against Guaros and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Toros maintains fifth position with 4-12 record. Defending champion Guaros keep the third place with seven games lost. Toros will meet at home higher ranked Marinos (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Guaros will play against Gigantes in Puerto Ordaz and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Guaiqueries maintains first position with 11-7 record, which they share with Trotamundos. Gaiteros at the other side keep the fourth place with nine games lost. Guaiqueries' next round opponent will be league's second-placed Trotamundos in Valencia and it will be for sure the game of the week. Gaiteros will play on the road against the league's leader Cocodrilos in Caracas and hope to win that game.
The game between Top Four teams took place in Puerto Ordaz. Third ranked host Gigantes (9-7) defeated their biggest opponent Trotamundos (11-7) 93-84. Ricky Tarrant scored 33 points (!!!) to lead the charge for the winners. Trotamundos' coach Ruben Magnano rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Gigantes maintains third position with 9-7 record having eight points less than leader Guaiqueries. Loser Trotamundos still keep top place with seven games lost. Gigantes will face Guaros (#3) in Barquisimeto in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Trotamundos will play on the road against the league's leader Guaiqueries in Porlamar and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 10: Marinos lost to Panteras on the opponent's court 92-96. Panteras managed to outperform Marinos in a home game 98-82. Guaros managed to beat Toros on the road 80-72.

Gigantes - Trotamundos 85-86

Important game to mention about took place in Puerto Ordaz. Second ranked Trotamundos (11-7) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging 3rd ranked Gigantes (9-7) 86-85 on Saturday evening. Gigantes were ahead by 8 points after three quarters before a 29-20 charge of Trotamundos, which allowed them to win the game. Americans were the main players on the court. Panteras - Marinos 96-92

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Caracas where one of their biggest challengers Marinos (5-9) were defeated by fifth ranked Panteras (5-13) 96-92 on Saturday. Panteras made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Marinos were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American Trey Gilder (206-85, college: Northwestern St.) scored 30 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Kareem Canty (185-93, college: Auburn) chipped in 21 points and 10 assists during the contest. At the losing side the former international power forward Hector Romero (202-80, college: New Orleans) responded with 28 points and 6 rebounds and the former international forward Juan Herrera (197-81) scored 17 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists.
