Christophe
Massie
Marinos de Anzoategui (LPB) agreed terms with experienced 40-year old American power forward Christophe Massie (206-115kg-77, college: Memphis). He played last season at Sionista in Argentinian TFB league. In 13 LigaA games he had 13.8ppg, 8.8rpg and 1.4apg. Massie also played that season for Atletico Aguada in Uruguayan LUB where in 26 games he recorded very impressive stats: 18.1ppg, 12.9rpg (leader !!!), 2.1apg and 1.5spg. A very spectacular season in his career as he was named to Latinbasket.com All-Uruguay LUB 3rd Team and to the All-Star Game.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others his team won Korean KBL Regular Season in 2014. Massie was also voted Eurobasket.com All-French ProB Import Player of the Year back in 2012.
He is quite experienced player. Massie has played in nine different countries on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America). He has played previously professionally in Bosnia (Igokea), Greece (Gymnastikos Olympia Larissas and Trikalla), Israel (Ironi Ashkelon), Italy (Fabriano), Puerto Rico (Atleticos), Spain (Gran Canaria), France (Limoges CSP Elite and JSF Nanterre), South Korea (LG Sakers) and Venezuela (Panteras).
Massie attended University of Memphis until 2003 and it will be his 14th (!!!) season as a professional player.
He could be described: Very physical player who has great size. He's terrific around the basket but has the skills where he can move out to the perimeter. My question is where his free throw shooting will fall because that will tell the tale of how dominating he can be.
