Hector
Romero
Experienced international Power forward Hector Romero (202-F/C-80) had an amazing evening in the last round for Marinos and that's him to receive a Latinbasket.com Player of the Week award for round 11.
The 36-year old power forward had a double-double of 33 points and twelve rebounds, while his team beat Toros (#5, 5-13) 113-108. Marinos maintains the 4th position in their group in Venezuelan LPB. Marinos is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 6-10 record. Romero just recently signed at Marinos, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Hector Romero averages this season 11.5ppg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 23-year old Dominican Rep. forward Juan Guerrero (201-F-93, agency: Basket Management Solutions) of Toros. Guerrero impressed basketball fans with 34 points and 9 rebounds. Bad luck as Toros lost that game 108-113 to slightly higher-ranked Marinos (#4, 6-10). Toros managed to keep the same 5th spot in Eastern Conference. 13 lost games are too many comparing to just five victories Toros managed to get this year. Guerrero is one of the most experienced players at Toros and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 16.8ppg (#9). He also registered 9.4 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was another Toros' star - American Kyle Fuller (185-PG-92). Fuller got into 30-points club by scoring exactly 30 points in the last round. He went also for eleven assists. He was another key player of Toros, helping his team with a 115-88 easy win against slightly higher-ranked Marinos (#4, 6-10). Toros can only dream about fighting for top spots in Eastern Conference. They have rather bad season and 5-13 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Fuller he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Fuller has individually a great season in Venezuela. After 18 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 20.3ppg (3rd best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Al Thornton (203-F-83) of Gaiteros - 30 points and 10 rebounds
5. John Flowers (200-F-89) of Cocodrilos - 25 points and 5 rebounds
6. Trey Gilder (206-PF-85) of Panteras - 29 points, 2 rebounds and 6 assists
7. Jordan Hamilton (201-G/F-90) of Bucaneros - 25 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Axiers Sucre (199-F-78) of Gigantes - 19 points, 13 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Tulio Cobos (197-F-86) of Bucaneros - 16 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Kentrell Gransberry (206-C-85) of Guaiqueries - 14 points and 10 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
