Trotamundos de Carabobo (LPB) strengthened their roster with the addition of experienced 40-year old ex-international point guard Diego Guevara (184-77, college: Charlotte) from Marinos, in a trade that involved two players and the negotiation rights over a foreign player included in the LPB's one-year reserve list

It will be Guevara's come back to his first pro franchise in Venezuela, 12 years after he was traded from the Valencia based team, then to Guaros de Lara, his native city's franchise, prior to LPB 2005. He was the LPB's Rookie of the Year as a player of Trotamundos back in 1995.

Trotamundos sent young players Henry Osal and Sam Shepherd Jr. to Marinos de Anzoategui as part of a trade and also gave them the right to negotiate with foreign player Musa Abdul-Aleem, who was on their reserve list for this season.

In 40 LPB games, Guevara he recorded 4.8ppg and 1.6apg last season as a reserve player for Marinos.

He helped them to win the regular season and make it to the semifinals. Great season indeed as he was voted to Latinbasket.com All-Venezuelan LPB Honorable Mention.

The most of previous (2015) summer Guevara spent at Gigantes where in 23 LPB games he averaged 3.5ppg, 1.3rpg and 1.4apg in 2015 season. Guevara also spent pre-season at Guaros that year.

The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he won Venezuelan LNB championship title in 2006 and 2014. Guevara was a member of Venezuelan Senior National Team between 1998 and 2006.

He is quite experienced player. Guevara has played also professionally in Colombia (Arrieros), Mexico, Puerto Rico (Vaqueros), Saudi Arabia and Venezuela (Guaros de Lara 2, Guaiqueries, Toros, Yaracuyanos and Bucaneros).

Guevara attended University of North Carolina - Charlotte until 2001 and it will be his 16th (!!!) season as a professional player.

The scouts decsribe him following way: One of the most technical complete players in Venezuelan League; good shooting skills, terrific three point shooter, he's made the adaptation to the point after starting at 2 position, and now has the typical ball handling and leadership of a South American point guard.
