The round was exceptionally exciting as five games ended with a tiny margin. There was no lack of interesting games this round. The round ended with defeat of the leader, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Cocodrilos (16-4) in Caracas on Tuesday night. Hosts were defeated by fourth ranked Gaiteros (6-10) 78-63. The game was mostly controlled by Gaiteros. Cocodrilos managed to win fourth quarter 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Gaiteros had a 34-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American forward Al Thornton (203-83, college: Florida St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 10 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). The former international forward Hernan Salcedo (198-80) helped adding 5 points and 13 rebounds. Forward Kelvin Caraballo (195-88) responded with 10 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gaiteros maintains fourth place with 6-10 record, which they share with Marinos. Defending champion Cocodrilos still keep top position with four games lost. Gaiteros is looking forward to face league's second-placed Trotamundos in Valencia in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Cocodrilos' supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Caracas Panteras.
Fourth-ranked Gaiteros (6-10) gave a tough game to first ranked Cocodrilos (16-4) in Caracas. Cocodrilos managed to secure only one-point victory 78-77. However their fans expected easier game. It was an exceptional evening for American forward John Flowers (200-89, college: W.Virginia) who led the winners and scored 25 points and 5 rebounds. Cesar Garcia accounted for 18 points and 5 rebounds. American forward Al Thornton (203-83, college: Florida St.) came up with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 14 rebounds for Gaiteros in the defeat. Gaiteros' coach Gustavo Garcia tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Defending champion maintains first place with 16-4 record. Gaiteros at the other side keep the fourth position with ten games lost. They share it with Marinos. Cocodrilos' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Caracas Panteras.
A very close game took place in Porlamar between Guaiqueries and Trotamundos. First ranked Guaiqueries (13-7) got a very close home victory over second-ranked Trotamundos (11-9). Guaiqueries managed to escape with a 1-point win 70-69 in the game for the first place. The best player for the winners was Kentrell Gransberry who had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). David Cubillan produced 22 points for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Guaiqueries have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 13-7 record. Loser Trotamundos keep the second position with nine games lost. Guaiqueries will meet Guaros (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Trotamundos will play against Gaiteros in Maracaibo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
A very interesting game took place in Porlamar. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of second-ranked Trotamundos (11-9) to first ranked Guaiqueries (13-7) 67-65 in the fight for the first place. Cesar Silva orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points and 4 steals. Guaiqueries' coach Oscar Silva allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Guaiqueries have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 13-7 record. Trotamundos at the other side keep the second position with nine games lost. Guaiqueries' next round opponent will be Guaros (#3) in Barquisimeto, which may be the game of the day. Trotamundos will play on the road against Gaiteros in Maracaibo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Fifth-ranked Panteras (5-15) gave a tough game to second ranked Bucaneros (12-8) in Caracas on Wednesday. The visitors from La Guaira managed to secure only one-point victory 93-92. However their fans expected easier game. It was a great evening for Jordan Hamilton who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds. Bucaneros' coach Fernando Calero used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Bucaneros maintains second place with 12-8 record having four points less than leader Guaiqueries. Loser Panteras keep the fifth position with 15 games lost. Bucaneros will face Toros (#5) in Maracay in the next round. Panteras' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Caracas to the arena Cocodrilos.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 11: Gigantes won against Guaros on the opponent's court 86-80. Guaros managed to outperform Gigantes in a home game 101-85. Guaros managed to beat Gigantes on the road 92-83. Toros were defeated by Marinos on its own court 108-113. Guaros beat Gigantes in Barquisimeto 85-84. Toros destroyed Marinos at home 115-88. Panteras were outscored by Bucaneros on the opponent's court 94-67.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 27 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists by Quinnel Brown of Gigantes.

Guaros - Gigantes 80-86

There was a minor upset in Barquisimeto where 3rd placed Guaros (10-8) were defeated by third ranked Gigantes (10-10) 86-80 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 6 points. Guaros were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American Quinnel Brown (198-83, college: Auburn) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import guard Ricky Tarrant (188-93, college: Memphis) helped adding 22 points and 5 assists. American Lazar Hayward (225-86, college: Marquette) responded with 19 points and 7 rebounds and international point guard Heissler Guillent (186-86) scored 15 points and 7 assists. Four Guaros players scored in double figures. Gigantes maintains third place with 10-10 record having six points less than leader Guaiqueries which they share with defeated Guaros. Defending champion Guaros keep the third position with eight games lost. Gigantes will face Marinos (#4) in Puerto La Cruz in the next round. Guaros will play at home against the league's leader Guaiqueries and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

There was a small surprise in Barquisimeto where third ranked Guaros (10-8) defeated 3rd placed Gigantes (10-10) 101-85 on Saturday. Guaros shot 66.7 percent from the field. Guaros had a 26-15 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 56.5 percentage. Guaros looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Gigantes' players. It was a great evening for American Lazar Hayward (225-86, college: Marquette) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 7 rebounds. International point guard Heissler Guillent (186-86) helped adding 11 points and 12 assists. American Quinnel Brown (198-83, college: Auburn) responded with 27 points and the former international forward Axiers Sucre (199-78) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. The game was mostly controlled by Gaiteros. Cocodrilos managed to win fourth quarter 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Four Toros and five Marinos players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
