Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Venezuelans who are currently playing abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is former U17 international power forward Jose Rodriguez (197-94, currently plays in Colombia). He was the major contributor in Cimarrones' victory against the league outsider Patriotas (5-19) crushing them 83-59 in the Colombian Liga DirecTV in Friday night's game. Rodriguez had a double-double by scoring 26 points and getting 10 rebounds. He also added 5 assists and 2 blocks in 38 minutes on the court. Cimarrones del Choco (13-7) is placed third in the Liga DirecTV. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Rodriguez has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 21.3ppg, 10.3rpg, 3.7apg, 1.3bpg, 2FGP: 49.1% and FT: 66.7% in three games he played so far. Rodriguez played for the Venezuelan U17 national team six years ago.

   #2. Second place goes to former U17 international swingman Jesus Medina (188-94, currently plays in Colombia). Medina led Piratas to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Sabios (9-14) 95-78 in the Colombian Liga DirecTV on Saturday night. He had a double-double by scoring 19 points and getting 10 rebounds. Medina also added 7 assists and 4 steals in 36 minutes. Piratas de Bogota (9-15) is placed sixth in the Liga DirecTV. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. Medina has relatively good stats this year: 10.7ppg, 6.0rpg, 4.9apg, 1.1spg, 2FGP: 36.0%, 3FGP: 27.8% and FT: 60.5% in 11 games. He played for the Venezuelan U17 national team in 2011.

   #3. The Venezuelan player who performed third best last week abroad was an experienced former international forward Eduardo Torres (195-81, currently plays in Colombia). Torres led Condores to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Sabios (9-14) crushing them 98-77 in the Colombian Liga DirecTV in Saturday night's game. He scored 19 points, had 5 rebounds and dished 4 assists. Condores de Cundinamarca (11-12) is placed fourth in the Liga DirecTV. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. This season Torres has very high stats. He averages: 15.7ppg, 4.8rpg, 3.0apg, 2FGP: 55.3%(42-76), 3FGP: 41.9% and FT: 78.3%. Torres has a dual citizenship: Venezuelan and Colombian. Former Panteras de Miranda starter played for the Venezuelan national team eight years ago.

   #4. Power forward Luis Julio (201-80, currently plays in Colombia) managed to help Fast Break in a victory against one of league's weakest teams Caciques (8-13) 71-63 in the Colombian Liga DirecTV last Saturday. Julio scored only 2 points, had 9 rebounds and made 2 blocks in 30 minutes. Fast Break (20-1) is placed first in the Liga DirecTV. It was his team's consecutive victory in a row. This year Julio's overall stats are: 7.9ppg and 8.0rpg in 14 games. He is another player who holds two passports: Venezuelan and Colombian. Julio used to play for the Venezuelan national team back in 2009.


The list of other players, who all have Venezuelan passport but never been selected to any of Venezuelan national teams:

   #1. Luis Almanza (196-F-91, currently plays in Colombia) led Condores to a victory against one of league's weakest teams Caciques (8-13) 84-80 in the Colombian Liga DirecTV last Saturday. He recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points and getting 16 rebounds. Condores de Cundinamarca (11-12) is placed fourth in the Liga DirecTV. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. Almanza has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 15.6ppg, 10.1rpg and 1.8apg.

   #2. Hector Diaz (197-G/F-92, currently plays in Colombia) is a teammate of previously mentioned Luis Almanza. But that was another game of his team in Colombian Liga DirecTV which we would like to mention. Diaz contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Sabios (9-14) crushing them 98-77. He scored 16 points, had 5 rebounds and dished 7 assists in a mere 19 minutes. Condores de Cundinamarca (11-12) is placed fourth in the Liga DirecTV. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. This year Diaz has relatively solid stats: 11.7ppg, 5.6rpg, 3.5apg and 2.3spg in 23 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Venezuelan and Colombian.

   #3. Fernando Lucena (185-PG-86, currently plays in Colombia) faced previously mentioned Luis Almanza in the Colombian Liga DirecTV last game. Lucena. He could not help Caciques (8-13) to beat Condores (11-12). Lucena did not beat the league record on Saturday evening. He scored only 3 points. Caciques was defeated 84-80 on the road by the higher-ranked Condores (#4). It was Caciques' sixth consecutive loss in a row. This season Lucena has relatively solid stats: 10.4ppg, 1.9rpg and 1.3apg. He is another player who holds two passports: Venezuelan and Colombian.

   #4. Raul Orta (196-G-85, currently plays in Puerto Rico) managed to help Santeros de Aguada in a 1-point victory against the fifth-ranked Capitanes (19-17) 87-86 in the Puerto Rican BSN in Thursday night's game. Orta recorded only 3 points in 6 minutes on the court. Santeros de Aguada (25-11) is placed first in the BSN. This year Orta averages just 2.5ppg in 27 games. He has both Venezuelan and Puerto Rican nationalities.

   #5. Dario Castro (206-C-91, currently plays in Colombia) was not able to help Sabios in their game against Piratas (9-15) in the Colombian PBD. Castro cannot count Saturday's game as one of the best ones. He scored only 2 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Sabios was badly defeated 95-78 in Bogota by the lower-ranked Piratas (#6). It was Sabios' third consecutive loss in a row. Castro's overall stats this season are: 4.7ppg and 3.2rpg.

   #6. Rafael Rodriguez (187-G-86, currently plays in Colombia) contributed to an easy victory against the league outsider Patriotas crushing them 89-45 in the Colombian Liga DirecTV on Saturday night. He scored 8 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 24 minutes. This year Rodriguez's overall stats are: 1.5ppg and 1.4rpg in 16 games.

   #7. Michael Hinestroza Javes (208-F-90, college: UALR, currently plays in Colombia) is a teammate of previously mentioned Rafael Rodriguez and both played together in the last Colombian Liga DirecTV game. Hinestroza Javes contributed to an easy victory against the league outsider Patriotas crushing them 89-45. He scored 6 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Hinestroza Javes' overall stats this season are: 7.0ppg, 6.1rpg and 1.1apg. He also holds two passports: Venezuelan and Colombian.
