| | | 'El Habanero' Angel Caballero (192-G-70, agency: Paris Global Sports) will play next year in Argentina. Obras Sanitarias, the team of another Cuban player, Lazaro Borrell (202-F-72, agency: Interperformances) signed him for a yaer. For Caballero is a return in the team of Buenos Aires where He played in the season 1997-98. Angel Caballero is a very expert player in Argentina, He played there for a lot of teams as Obras Sanitarias, Boca Juniors, Gimnasia y Esgrima and Comodoro Rivadavia. Caballero will be one of the points of strength of the team in the next season. He can give them points and all over rebounds and 'garra'. Caballero is a real fighter and He is a player who plays with the heart. Last year 'El Habanero' played in Puerto Rico for Indios de Mayaguez where scored 10.1 ppg and 6.8 rpg in 26 games. A. | Cuba waiting for Caricom CentroBasket | |
| | | Cuba basketball is ready for the Caricom 2008 in Cancun, Mexico. The first 4 teams of the Caricom 2008 will have the chance to play in the Pre-World Cup 2009. The favourite teams in this Caricom will be of course Puerto Rico, Cuba, Dominican Republic, and the host, Mexico. Cuba's national team, trained by Daniel Scott, is ready to be the 'Queen of Caribe.' Allens Jemmott, the top scorer of the Cuban league, will be 'the man' of the team. With his scoring ability and leadership, he can lead Cuba to victory. In the last friendly games with Venezuela, Geoffrey Silvestre (202-F/C-79) had a nice effort, and, when in top form, can be very dangerous in the paint. With a Caricom championship, Cuba could earn a spot in the World Cup next year. A. Fontana (edited by Jeremy Rubio) |

 | Cuba in Venezuela, two defeats but Cuba is alive!! | |
| | | Our National Team played two friendly games in Venezuela against the venezuelan National team. Cuba was defeated twice 86-61 and 86-81. If there was no game in the first match, in the second match Cuba played very good, as a team, with hard defense and a good shots percentage. These friendly games were very important for the Cuban national team to have more experience for the future games and to be ready for the next Caricom. This Cuba is one of the strongest in the last years, the team who played these two friendly games in Venezuela has 10 players very strong and able to score and defend very hard. The starting five is usually: Michael Guerra (Ciego de Avila) the Cuban Jason Kidd as playmaker, Allens Jemmott (Matanzas) The MJ of the Caribe as shooting guard, Yudnier Perez (190-G-84) (Ciego de Avila) as forward who has to defend very hard and try to steal balls, El Gato Geoffrey Silvestre (Ciego de Avila) as power forward, the man who can score 20-25 points per game and Orestes Torres (Capitalinos) as the Big Man in the painting area. Ready to enter in the court: Alexis Labastida and Taylor Garcia (Capitalinos), Yaca and Polas (the two stars of Camaguey), Henry Simon (the strongest player of Holguin) and the young center Poumier (Capitalinos) who made his debut with Cuba in Venezuela, an interesting player for the future. Andy Boffill (193-G-82), El hombre de Villa Clara was not choosen by the coach but he can be very helpful with his ability to score and also the center of Ciego de Avila Haiti was not choosen as the coach is interested to give a chance of the Big Man Poumier, the future Tower of the national team.
In the Next caricom, Cuba can really win or reach the Final, the team is very strong and the players are ready to reach a great result with the Cuban Shirt. 'Hasta la Victoria'
