Nymburk are closing on the title in Czech Republic national championship. However their Finals opponents are showing great desire and skills. One of the key roles in Prostejov game schemes is being played by Dominican import Sylvere Bryan (208-C-81, agency: Interperformances, college: Tampa). He helped his side to overcome BC Decin in a dramatic semifinal clash. After Prostejov took a 2:0 lead in the best-of-five series little doubts could have raised about the outcome of this one. But Decin proved their strong character and tied the series. In Game 3 they celebrated an overwhelming 65:100 victory. Sylvere Bryan had 3 points (1/4 FG, 1/2 FT) and 6 rebounds in a loss. Decin continued to impress basketball fans with a 81:75 win away from home in Game 4. Sylvere Bryan was among the scoring leaders for Prostejov but received little help from teammates. He scored 15 points (4/6 FG, 7/8 FT), grabbed 5 rebounds and made a block in 18 minutes of action. However Game 5 turned out in favor of Prostejov as they edged Decin 81:73 to advance into the Finals. Sylvere Bryan provided 12 points (6/9 FG), 4 rebounds and a block for the winners.
The Finals brought together Prostejov and Nymburk. Game 1 had little intrigue as Prostejov obviously struggled to gain necessary form after an exhausting semis. At the quarterfinal stage Prostejov had to survive some difficult challenges to overcame Pardubice in three games. In the first encounter Pardubice were stronger at home 82:78.
