Antigua ended their participation in the Centro Basket Tournament beating
Costa Rica by the score of 99-86 and ended in the seventh place in the
tounament.
Antigua registered a 1-4 record for the whole tournament and Costa Rica
never won a game (0-5).
In the first half, Antigua was guided by Lennox Mc Coy who played in
theWwechester Fire in the USBL and went to half time with a 57-47 lead
over Costa Rica.
In the second half, Bryan Matthew scored 32 points and was 17-12 from
field goal range, Lennox McCoy ended with 27 points and 9 assists being
the key for this team to win.
For Costa Rica, the best scorers were, Clifford Smith with 25 points and
Henry Martinez with 20.

advantage in a see-saw battle with Mexico. The DR led 89-85 with 2:10
remaining, but five straight free throws by

republic reclaimed the lead on two "Grillo" Vargas free throws,
Horacio
Llamas (211-C-73), who had struggled all night (6/19 FG, 7 turnovers),
hit a three to put Mexico ahead 93-91 and set up Payano's heroics. Mexico
will regret their 25 turnovers, which offset a 36-22 rebounding edge. The
Dominicans will get a chance at revenge in the final--they have unfinished
business with both Puerto Rico (96-60 defeat on Thursday) and the Virgin
Islands (eliminated the DR from 2001 Centrobasket.
In earlier consolation games, Guatemala rallied to upset Costa Rica, and
the Bahamas sailed past Antigua.

it paid off tonight as they used a 31-5 second-half run to demolish the
Dominican Republic. Jose Ortiz, Eddie Casiano, and Daniel Santiago, who
combined for 19 points in the first two games scored 57 tonight. Puerto
Rico will play the US Virgin Islands in one semifinal, while the Dominican
Republic plays Mexico.

he would like to forget, shooting a woeful 2/18 from the field. Mexico and
