The Bahamas much like their male counterparts are having a flawless run in the Caribbean Basketball Confederation (CBC) female under-16 championship after booking a spot in the final with a 55-26 victory against Antigua and Barbuda on Friday evening at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall in Georgetown, Guyana. The Bahamas led from start to finish in the championship's first semifinal with their most dominant quarter being the final period where they held the Antiguan girls to just two points in the period to secure the easy win. Antigua just did not have the fire power to score with the Bahamians as they were unable to go past double-digit scores in three out of the four quarters, their best quarter being the third where they scored 10 points. Kendise Smith had a big night for the Bahamians, scoring 17 points while Tanea Bowleg contributed 15 points as well. Scoring for Antigua came from Britnay Gore (182-F) with 12 points and 10 rebounds. The Antiguans will now play for third place on Saturday (July 16) while the Bahamas will have a chance to emulate their male counterparts by lifting the 2016 title in the final.
