Minner's 26 points and 6 rebounds give him Player of the Week award- May 4, 2023
He had the game-high 26 points adding six rebounds for Cutie Ovals in his team's victory, helping them to crush, the league's bottom-ranked team Spanish Heat (#8, 0-1) with 23-point margin 80-57. It allowed Cutie Ovals to take over top position in the Antiguan league. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Cutie Ovals won just one (their first) game. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. In the team's last game Minner had a remarkable 60.0% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He has many years of experience at Cutie Ovals, through which he has constantly improved. Mid-America Christian University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Minner is league's best scorer averaging so far 26.0ppg. Minner is in league's top in and averages solid 3.0spg,60.0% FGP and 66.7% from behind 3-point line. Second best performed player last round was Alexis Jackson (205-C-2000). He is international center in his first season at Cutie Ovals. In the last game Jackson recorded impressive double-double of 10 points and 15 rebounds. Of course together with Minner he helped Cutie Ovals with another comfortable win outscoring Spanish Heat (0-1) 80-57. His team has extremely good start of the season. They won their first game. However the season is at the beginning, so everything can happen. They still may lose their high position in the standings. Jackson is one of the most experienced players at Cutie Ovals and similarly like Joshua Minner has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. Third place about best performers goes to guard Cohen Desouza (G) of league's second-best Potters S.. Desouza scored 13 points and grabbed nine rebounds. He was a key player of Potters S., leading his team to a 72-65 win against Ottos (#7, 0-1). Potters S. has a very good start of the season. But there was just one game played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Desouza also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. The season just started for Desouza as he played only first game. But it already looks like he can be team's leader. Other top performing players last week: 4. Jacob Lloyd (183-PG-1994) of Potters S. - 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists 5. Michael Barton) of Ottos - 8 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists 6.
