The Regular Season in ABBA just started. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Slam recorded a loss at the home court on Thursday night. Hosts were rolled over by Flyers 97-31. Flyers held Slam to an opponent 16.7 percent shooting from the field compared to 42.9 percent accuracy of the winners. Flyers forced 45 Slam turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Slam's players. Selassie Brathwaite fired a double-double by scoring 13 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Guard Xavier Meade chipped in 17 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. Ezekiel Francois (-2001) produced 6 points and 15 rebounds for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
Another exciting game where Slam edged by one point Baldwin Braves 65-64. Baldwin Braves were very close to get their first win. But it seems they have to wait a little bit longer. Worth to mention a great performance of Adissa Harris who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 7 assists and 5 steals. Ezekiel Francois contributed with 8 points, 17 rebounds and 6 blocks for the winners. Tristan Jacobs answered with 17 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for Baldwin Braves. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game.
An exciting game was played in . Cutie Ovals faced Potters S.. Host Cutie Ovals smashed guests from 88-58. Joshua Minner stepped up with a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds for the winners. At the losing side Cohen Desouza responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.

Other games of round 1 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Potters S. defeated Ottos in a road game 72-65. Winless Spanish Heat lost to defending champion Cutie Ovals at home 57-80. Stingerz destroyed Baldwin Braves on the opponent's court 90-50. Potters S. managed to outperform Spanish Heat in a home game 82-68. Cutie Ovals rolled over Ottos on the road 101-66. Flyers crushed Ottos on its own court 96-54. Winless Spanish Heat lost to undefeated Stingerz in a road game 65-78.




Ottos - Potters S. 65-72

There was no surprise when Ottos were defeated at home by Potters S. 72-65 on Sunday. Potters S. forced 33 Ottos turnovers and had a 42-29 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Welsh point guard Jacob Lloyd (183-1994, college: Harris-Stowe St.) stepped up and scored 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and guard Cohen Desouza chipped in 13 points and 9 rebounds. Potters S.'s coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side guard Lincoln Weekes responded with 21 points and guard Warren Bogle scored 12 points and 9 rebounds.

Spanish Heat - Cutie Ovals 57-80

No shocking result in a game when Cutie Ovals smashed on the road Spanish Heat 80-57 on Sunday. Cutie Ovals forced 33 Spanish Heat turnovers. American guard Joshua Minner (198-1990, college: MACU) stepped up and scored 26 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and the former international center Alexis Jackson (205-2000) chipped in 10 points and 15 rebounds. At the losing side Kelvin Pimentel responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds and guard Steven Matthew scored 11 points and 4 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.

At the losing side guard Damien Flyod responded with 14 points and 7 rebounds and guard Bernard Andrew scored 12 points. Baldwin Braves' coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win.

Potters S. forced 23 Spanish Heat turnovers and outrebounded them 65-39 including a 41-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Potters S. looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The former international guard Marlon Charles (186-1976) stepped up and scored 9 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and Welsh point guard Jacob Lloyd (183-1994, college: Harris-Stowe St.) chipped in 16 points and 8 rebounds. At the losing side guard Steven Matthew responded with 26 points and 4 steals and Wilkin Flyod scored 13 points. The former international center Alexis Jackson (205-2000) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and American guard Joshua Minner (198-1990, college: MACU) chipped in 22 points and 9 rebounds. Four Cutie Ovals players scored in double figures. Cutie Ovals' coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side guard Lincoln Weekes responded with 28 points and 6 rebounds and Michael Barton produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds.

Baldwin Braves were plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of Adissa Harris who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 7 assists and 5 steals. Ezekiel Francois (-2001) contributed with 8 points, 17 rebounds and 6 blocks for the winners.
