The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Stingerz as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Stingerz edged 4th ranked Flyers at home 71-68. Stingerz forced 31 Flyers turnovers and outrebounded them 65-48 including a 34-15 advantage in offensive rebounds. Forward Jamine Charles (211, college: Blinn JC) fired a double-double by scoring 23 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. Jayden Andrew chipped in 21 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals. Guard Xavier Meade produced 13 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. Undefeated Stingerz (5-0) have an impressive five-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Flyers at the other side keep the fourth place with two games lost. Flyers will play next round against Baldwin Braves trying to get back on the winning streak. Stingerz will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Potters S. on the road.
Important game to mention about took place in . Fourth ranked Flyers (4-2) saved a 2-point victory at home edging their close opponent Cutie Ovals (5-2) 69-67 on Thursday evening. Worth to mention a great performance of Selassie Brathwaite who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 5 rebounds. Xavier Meade contributed with 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. The former international center Alexis Jackson (205-2000) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 16 rebounds for Cutie Ovals. Cutie Ovals' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Flyers maintains fourth position with 4-2 record. Defending champion Cutie Ovals dropped to the third place with two games lost. Flyers will play against Baldwin Braves (#7) in the next round. Cutie Ovals will have a break next round.
Bottom-ranked Baldwin Braves (0-5) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 104-56 loss to third ranked Potters S. (5-1) in on Thursday evening. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. Worth to mention a great performance of Lindsay McDonald who helped to win the game recording 27 points. At the losing side Bernard Andrew responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 14 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Potters S. have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Loser Baldwin Braves still closes the standings with five games lost. Potters S. will meet at home league's leader Stingerz in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Baldwin Braves will play against Flyers (#4) and hope to get finally their first victory.
