Jabari Williams claims Antiguan ABBA weekly honour- July 17, 2023
The 21-year old forward had a double-double of 23 points and fifteen rebounds, while his team outclassed Ottos (#5, 4-9) with 27-point margin 85-58. Flyers is placed at 3rd position in Antiguan ABBA. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Flyers will need more victories to improve their 10-4 record. Williams has many years of experience at Flyers, through which he has constantly improved. Indian River State College graduate has very impressive stats this year. Williams is in league's top in points (9th best: 14.0ppg), rebounds (3rd best: 12.6rpg) and averages solid 59.5% FGP. The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was Kelvin Pimentel of Spanish Heat. Pimentel impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 19 points and 15 rebounds. Of course he led Spanish Heat to another comfortable win 78-59 over slightly higher-ranked Ottos (#5, 4-9) being unquestionably team leader. This victory allowed Spanish Heat to leave bottom place moving a little bit up to 7th position in the standings. 11 lost games are too many comparing to just three victories Spanish Heat managed to get this year. Pimentel is one of the most experienced players at Spanish Heat and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. The third best performed player last round was American Joshua Minner (198-G-1990) of top-ranked Cutie Ovals. Minner scored 20 points and grabbed six rebounds. He was a key player of Cutie Ovals, leading his team to a 91-54 easy win against the lower-ranked Spanish Heat (#7, 3-11). Cutie Ovals confirms their top position in the standings. Minner has a great season in Antigua. After 14 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 25.8ppg (best scorer) and assists with 4.0apg (8th best).
