Antiguan ABBA round 8 best performance: Adonis Humphreys

International Center Adonis Humphreys (198-C-1994) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for top-ranked Flyers Basketball, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8.
The 29-year old player had a double-double of 29 points and 21 rebounds, while his team outclassed Slam (#5, 1-7) with 52-point margin 100-48. It allowed Flyers to consolidate first place in the Antiguan ABBA. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. It's already very far into the season and Flyers keeps a perfect 7-0 record. Humphreys turned to be Flyers' top player in his first season with the team. Former Southwestern Illinois College star has very solid stats this year. Humphreys is in league's top in points (4th best: 15.2ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 14.8rpg), assists (6th best: 4.3apg) and averages impressive 3.0bpg,3.5spg and 58.6% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young international forward Cohen Desouza (201-F-1994) of Potters Steelers. Desouza had a very good evening with a double-double of 16 points and 13 rebounds. Of course he led Potters S. to another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked Ottos (#4, 2-6) 87-58. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Potters S. consolidated its place in top 3 of the standings. His team's 6-2 record is not bad at all. Desouza is one of the most experienced players at Potters S. and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 15.0ppg (#5). His other stats are also decent: 13.5rpg and 4.9apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was guard Akeem Davis (G) of Ottos Full Throttle (#4). Davis scored 16 points and grabbed 13 rebounds (!!!). Despite Davis' great performance the Ottos lost 58-87 to #3 ranked Potters S.. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. Ottos can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 2-6 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Davis he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Davis has individually a great season in Antigua. After only 8 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 7.8rpg (8th best).
