Steven Matthew claims Antiguan ABBA Hoops Agents weekly honour

Steven Matthew (G) put on an amazing game in the last round for Spanish Heat and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 12.
The guard had the game-high 39 points adding five rebounds for Spanish Heat in his team's victory, helping them to outclass Slam (#6, 1-8) with 26-point margin 95-69. Spanish Heat is placed at 5th position in Antiguan ABBA. The season is still in it's early stage, so the team may have a chance to improve their current position in the standings. They lost 7 games and had just one victory. In the team's last game Matthew had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range and got seven three-pointers out of 15 attempts. He turned to be Spanish Heat's top player in his first season with the team. Matthew has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (2nd best: 18.3ppg), assists (9th best: 3.8apg) and averages solid 2.1spg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young international forward Cohen Desouza (201-F-1994) of Potters Steelers. Desouza impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 18 points and 16 rebounds. Bad luck as Potters S. lost that game 74-81 to league's leader Flyers (#1, 8-0). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Potters S. still maintains its place in the top 3 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team's 6-4 record is not bad at all. Desouza is one of the most experienced players at Potters S. and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 15.0ppg (#5). His other stats are also decent: 13.8rpg and 4.5apg.

The third best performed player last round was another Potters S.'s star - international guard Devorn Benjamin (182-PG-1995). Benjamin scored 26 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Despite Benjamin's great performance the Potters Steelers lost 74-81 to #1 ranked Flyers. But his team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Potters S. needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 6 victories and 4 lost games. Benjamin has a very solid season. In 9 games in Antigua he scored 11.6ppg.
