American Point guard Sam Taylor (178-PG-1997) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Cutie Ovals Ojays, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 18.
The 28-year old player was the main contributor (30 points, nine rebounds and nine assists) to his team's victory, helping them to outclass Slam (#7, 2-10) with 73-point margin 137-64. Cutie Ovals maintains the 5th position in Antiguan ABBA. Cutie Ovals is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 7-7 record. In the team's last game Taylor had a remarkable 63.2% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Cutie Ovals, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Former Northern Michigan University star has very solid stats this year. Taylor is in league's top in points (7th best: 18.8ppg), assists (3rd best: 6.8apg) and averages impressive 5.4spg and 51.9% FGP. Worth to mention Taylor played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.

The second best player in last round's games was another Cutie Ovals' star - American Jabiri Smith (198-G). Smith had a very good evening with 35 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Of course together with Taylor he helped Cutie Ovals Ojays with another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked Slam (#7, 2-10) 137-64. Cutie Ovals' 5th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 7-7 record is not bad and everything may still change. Smith is one of the most experienced players at Cutie Ovals and similarly like Sam Taylor has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 23.9ppg (#1). His other stats are also decent: 8.1rpg and 4.5apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was American guard Cornell Greenwood (188-G) of league's second-best DA-Project. Greenwood got into 30-points club by scoring 31 points in the last round. He went also for six rebounds and five assists. He was a key player of DA-Project, leading his team to a 104-89 easy win against the lower-ranked Cutie Ovals (#5, 7-7). DA-Project needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 9 victories and 4 lost games. Greenwood has a great season in Antigua. After 13 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 18.2ppg (8th best). He also has 4.5spg and a FGP of 52.5%.
