Regatas Corrientes are the 2025-26 Liga Proximo champions, edging Instituto 61-60 in a white-knuckle final decided by the thinnest of margins a single point separating the title from heartbreak. In a contest defined by suffocating defense and clutch free-throw shooting, coach Diego Checenelli's side found just enough to outlast a stubborn Instituto team that led for stretches and had the quality to win. Regatas shot 57 percent from two-point range (19-of-33) and converted 11-of-13 from the charity stripe (84%) the kind of composure under pressure that championships demand. Exequiel Lezcano (180-PG-2007) led the champions with 18 points on 6-of-11 shooting, providing the primary scoring punch through a game in which no lead was safe. Joaquin Juan Ferreyra (185-G-2003) was lethally efficient off the bench with 12 points on a perfect 3-of-3 from two and 3-of-3 from the free-throw line plus six rebounds. Viktor Bender (197-SG-2006) contributed nine points and eight rebounds, while Francisco Ferraro (196-F-2004) added nine with seven rebounds and played all 40 minutes anchoring the defense. Ignacio Ortega (205-F/C-2004) matched him with 40 minutes on the clock, posting seven points and four rebounds. For Instituto, coached by I Giambartolomei, Jerson Caicedo (204-F-2004) was dominant inside with 21 points on 9-of-15 shooting, 16 rebounds (eight offensive), and three blocks a monster double-double that nearly carried the Cordoba side to the title.
