Al Dhafra (D1) agreed terms with 29-year old American guard Ray Mitchell (201-95kg-89, college: CS Stanislaus). He played last season at Villa San Martin in Argentinian La Liga. In 9 La Liga Argentina games he had 3.0ppg and 1.7rpg. Mitchell also played for Al Safa (SBL) in Saudi Arabian league.
He is quite experienced player. Mitchell's career allowed him to visit five different continents, while he played in eight different countries. Mitchell tasted the life as pro basketball player in Europe, Asia, Latin America, Australia and of course North America. He has played previously professionally in Australia (Caboolture Suns), Bahrain (Samaheej), Germany (Mustangs), Mexico (Soles), Saudi Arabia (Al Hidaya), ABA (IE Invaders), NEBA (Los Angeles R.) and Peru (La Salle).
Mitchell is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas.
He attended Cal.St.-Stanislaus until 2013 and it will be his sixth season as a professional player.
