Troy Bell
San Lorenzo de Almagra (LigaA) inked 35-year old American point guard Troy Bell (186-82kg-80, college: Boston, agency: BDA Sports). He played most recently at Akhisar Bld in Turkish TBL league. In 10 games he averaged impressive 17.1ppg, 4.0rpg, 1.2apg and 1.7spg last season.
The previous (13-14) season Bell played at Grissin Bon RE (Serie A) in Italian league. In 35 games he had 11.6ppg, 3.4rpg, 1.2apg and 1.0spg in 2013-14 season. He helped them to make it to the Italian Cup Semifinals. Bell also played 16 games in FIBA Europe Cup where he had 9.6ppg, 3.2rpg and 1.6apg in 2013-14 season.
In 12-13 season he played at La Briosa Barcellona (Serie A2) in Italian league. In 15 games he had 14.6ppg, 5.0rpg, 2.2apg and 1.4spg in 2012-13 season.
In 2003 Bell was drafted by Texas Rim Rockers (USBL) in fifth round (43rd overall).
The former Boston standoutis in his 13th (hopefully lucky) season in pro basketball.
Among other achievements Bell won EuroChallenge championship title in 2014. He received also Eurobasket.com All-Italian Lega2 3rd Team award back in 2012.
Bell is a very experienced player. He has played also professionally in France (Entente Orleans 45), Germany (Deutsche Bank Skyliners), Spain, Italy (Angelico Biella, Novipiu Casale, Vanoli Cremona and Napoli Basket) and D-League (N.Mexico T. and Austin Spurs).
Bell is close to retirement age as a player. It may be one of last seasons in his extensive career, which he may end at San Lorenzo.
Bell's game is described as: The typical "scoring point guard" who has the skills to score (a lot, if needed) and the passing and the court vision to play the point. Year after year, he seems to have ended the transition, and he's now ready to quarterback a pro team at the 1 position.
