Maurice Kemp
MAURICE KEMP

American Forward Maurice Kemp (203-F-91, agency: Duran International) put on an amazing game in the last round for Obras Basket, receiving a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 2.
The 27-year old player had a double-double of 27 points and 11 rebounds, while his team beat Ferrocarril (2-2) 87-82. Obras Basket is placed at 3rd position in their group in Argentinian La Liga. Obras Basket is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 2-2 record. In the team's last game Kemp had a remarkable 61.5% from 2-point range. It's his second year at Obras Basket and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Former East Carolina University star has very solid stats this year. Kemp is in league's top in points (9th best: 18.0ppg).

The second best player in last round's games was 30-year old American Jerome Meyinsse (207-C-88, agency: IPZ) of league's leader San Lorenzo. Meyinsse had a very good evening with 24 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists. Of course he led San Lorenzo to another comfortable win outscoring Obras Basket (2-2) 101-72. A very good start of the season for his team, which won so far all 3 games without any defeat. Meyinsse is a newcomer at San Lorenzo, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was guard Tomas Zanzottera (191-SG-93) of San Martin C. (#4). Zanzottera got into 30-points club by scoring 31 points in the last round. Despite Zanzottera's great performance San Martin C. lost 90-97 to #2 ranked La Union. But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The chances of San Martin C. not to end season at such low position in Group A, however are less than slim as they have already lost 2 games, recording just one victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Zanzottera could try to bring San Martin C.'s a little bit higher in the standings. Zanzottera has individually a great season in Argentina. After only 3 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.3ppg (2nd best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Angel Nunez (203-F-91) of Estudiantes C. - 27 points and 7 rebounds
5. Torin Francis (210-C-83) of Quimsa - 16 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Mariano Fierro (200-F-86) of Ferrocarril - 22 points, 12 rebounds and 3 assists
7. Adrian Boccia (195-F/G-82) of Boca Jrs - 23 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists
8. Nicolas De los Santos (180-PG-88) of Quimsa - 18 points, 4 rebounds and 7 assists
9. Khalil Kelley (203-C-91) of Libertad S. - 19 points and 11 rebounds
10. Fernando Zurbriggen (185-PG-97) of Obras Basket - 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
