There was no lack of interesting games this round. The round ended with defeat of the leader and favorites losing the games. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

Petrolero edged Deportivo Viedma in Rio Negro 79-76. It was a great evening for American John-A Thomas (198-82, college: Columbus St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Esteban Cantarutti (185-88) helped adding 12 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was point guard Pedro Franco (187-81) with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Deportivo Viedma will play next round against Progreso trying to get back on the winning streak. Petrolero will try to continue on its current victory against C.Espanol P. in Plottier.
The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Hindu (4-2) in Ceres. Visitors were defeated by Olimpico (3-1) 73-67. It was an exceptional evening for swingman Pablo Martinez (197-82) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds. Luciano Lizarraga accounted for 21 points. The former international Diego Guaita (203-83) came up with 15 points and 9 rebounds for Hindu in the defeat. Olimpico will play against Salta Basket (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Hindu will play against Obera TC and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Quite upsetting was Villa San Martin's home defeat in a game versus Salta Basket who edged hosts 86-85. The best player for the winners was Scott Cutley who scored 23 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Sebastian Picton who recorded 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Salta Basket will meet at home Olimpico in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Villa San Martin will play against Obera TC and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
A very interesting game took place in Villa Maria. It ended with only one-point home defeat of Ameghino (1-4) to BHY Tiro Federal (3-2) 79-78 on Friday evening. It was a good game for Bruno Oprandi who saved his team from a defeat with 18 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Ameghino's coach Pablo Castro tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. BHY Tiro Federal's next round opponent will be Barrio Parque in Cordoba and it will be for sure the game of the week. Ameghino will play at home against Sportivo America (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Very important is a home loss of Hindu (4-2) against Salta Basket (3-2) on Tuesday night. Host Hindu was defeated by Salta Basket in Chaco 90-79. It was a great evening for Scott Cutley who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds. Salta Basket will face Olimpico in Ceres in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Hindu will play at home against Obera TC and hope to win that game.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 3: winless Gimnasia LP lost to Estudiantes O. on the opponent's court 68-75. Villa San Martin outscored Independiente in a home game 102-77. Independiente managed to beat Obera TC on the road 81-70. Estudiantes O. defeated Parque Sur on its own court 89-78. Platense was beaten by Chivilcoy Racing in a road game 80-72. Rocamora won against Ciclista at home 82-67. Platense outscored Gimnasia LP on the opponent's court 88-65. La Union recorded a loss to Rocamora in a home game 70-76. Atenas Carmen was defeated by Petrolero on the road 102-88. Rivadavia M. beat Atenas Carmen on its own court 77-69. Deportivo Viedma destroyed Progreso Roca in Rio Negro 95-71. C.Espanol P. managed to outperform Progreso Roca at home 83-78. Sportivo America recorded a loss to Deportivo Norte on the opponent's court 93-83. Echague defeated Deportivo Norte in a home game 96-91. San Isidro beat Ameghino on the road 77-71. Echague lost to San Isidro on its own court 80-90. Union SF was outscored by BHY Tiro Federal in Morteros 56-77. San Isidro managed to beat Ameghino at home 83-71.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 20 points and 6 assists by Juan-Ignacio Rodriguez-Suppi of SAN ISIDRO.



Olimpico Ceres - Hindu 73-67

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Hindu (4-2) in Ceres. Visitors were defeated by Olimpico (3-1) 73-67. Olimpico forced 19 Hindu turnovers. There was a small surprise in Resistencia where Villa San Martin (2-3) smashed Independiente (3-3) 102-77 on Thursday. Villa San Martin dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Independiente's 28. They outrebounded Independiente 43-23 including a 32-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Villa San Martin shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 56.0 percentage. It was a great evening for American forward Sharwyn McGee (196-95, college: N.Alabama) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Franco Vieta (190-92) helped adding 22 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Villa San Martin's coach Gaston Castro felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
