SANTIAGO ARESE

Experienced Santiago Arese (196-F-87) had an amazing evening in the last round for Estudiantes O. and that's him to receive a Interperformances La Liga Argentina Player of the Week award for round 11.
The 31-year old forward got a double-double of 24 points and eleven assists, while his team beat Atenas (#3, 8-8) 115-108. Thanks to this victory Estudiantes O. moved-up to the 3rd position in their group in Argentinian La Liga Argentina. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Estudiantes O. will need more victories to improve their 10-6 record. In the team's last game Arese had a remarkable four three-pointers out of 8 attempts. He has many years of experience at Estudiantes O., through which he has constantly improved. Santiago Arese averages this season 14.9ppg, 6.1rpg and 4.6apg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 26-year old American forward Corbin Jackson (198-F-92) of Ciclista. Jackson impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 20 points and 17 rebounds. It was enough for Ciclista to edge slightly higher-ranked Racing Chivilcoy (#4, 9-7) by 4 points 71-67. Ciclista's 5th position in South - C.South has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 7-9 record. Jackson is a newcomer at Ciclista and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. Florida Institute of Technology alumni Jackson played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas.

The third best performed player last round was Nigerian Lotanna Nwogbo (203-F/C-93) of Atenas (#3). Nwogbo got into 30-points club by scoring 33 points in the last round. He went also for seven rebounds . Despite Nwogbo's great performance Atenas lost 108-115 to #3 ranked Estudiantes O.. But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Atenas needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams in South - C.South. Their record is 8 victories and 8 lost games. Nwogbo has a very solid season. In 16 games in Argentina he scored 16.5ppg. He also has 8.2rpg, 1.2bpg and FGP: 61.0%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Lisandro Rasio (198-PF-90) of Salta Basket - 23 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Tirrell Brown (198-PF-93) of Olimpico Ceres - 20 points and 10 rebounds
6. Alejandro Zilli (201-C/F-82) of Union SF - 17 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists
7. Charlie Wilson (203-PF-95) of Rivadavia M. - 25 points and 7 rebounds
8. Travele Jones (203-PF-88) of Echague - 22 points and 7 rebounds
9. Alejo Crotti (182-G-92) of Sportivo America - 20 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

The Player of the Week awards are presented by Interperformances. Interperformances is a full-service agency specializing in the representation of professional athletes the world-over. With more than forty-eight years of experience, INTERPERFORMANCES is well known to all professional teams and clubs. General Managers trust and rely on our opinions and recommendations.
