NICOLAS AGUIRRE

International Point guard Nicolas Aguirre (188-PG-88) had a great game in the last round for league's leader San Lorenzo and that's him to receive a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 4.
The 30-year old playmaker got a double-double of 25 points and ten assists, while his team crushed Quilmes MP (#17, 1-4) with 18-point margin 105-87. It allowed San Lorenzo to jump to the first place in the Argentinian La Liga. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but San Lorenzo already had a very good start winning all 4 without losing a single one. In the team's last game Aguirre had a remarkable four three-pointers out of 7 attempts. He has many years of experience at San Lorenzo, through which he has constantly improved. Aguirre has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (9th best: 16.8ppg), assists (2nd best: 6.8apg) and averages solid 41.7% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 31-year old center Ignacio Alessio (203-C-87) of LA UNION FSA. Alessio impressed basketball fans with 26 points and 7 rebounds. Bad luck as La Union lost that game 97-103 to the lower-ranked Instituto (#10, 2-0). This loss caused La Union to drop to 4th position in the standings. His team's 3-1 record is not bad at all. Alessio is a newcomer at La Union and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.0ppg (#2). He also registered 7.3 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was Italian Leandro Garcia Morales (186-SG-80, agency: Pro Sports) of Instituto (#10). Garcia Morales scored 27 points and passed four assists. He was a key player of Instituto, leading his team to a 103-97 win against the higher-ranked La Union (#4, 3-1). Instituto has a very good start of the season. But there were just 2 games played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Garcia Morales also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. Garcia Morales has a very solid season. In 2 games in Argentina he scored 17.5ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Mariano Fierro (200-F-86) of Ferro - 15 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists
5. Lucas Faggiano (188-PG-89) of San Martin C. - 25 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Nicolas Romano (200-PF-87) of Atenas - 21 points and 7 rebounds
7. Martin Leiva (211-C-80) of Estudiantes C. - 17 points and 14 rebounds
8. Eric Anderson (204-F/C-93) of Obras Basket - 14 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Eloy Vargas (211-C-88) of Gimnasia - 16 points and 9 rebounds
10. Sebastian Acevedo (198-F/C-90) of La Union - 15 points and 6 rebounds

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
