Kenny Jones
KENNY JONES

Deportivo Viedma Rio Negro (La Liga Argentina) signed experienced 34-year old American power forward Kenny Jones (198-93kg-84, college: Kentucky State). He started the season at Cape Breton Highlanders in Canadian NBL. In 13 NBL Canada games he had very impressive stats: 16.8ppg, 8.6rpg, 1.6apg and 1.2spg this season. The last season Jones played at Hindu (TNA) where in 50 games he recorded also remarkable stats: 17.4ppg, 6.2rpg, 1.5apg and 1.0spg. He helped them to end the regular season as a second best team in the league. Quite impressive season as he was named to Latinbasket.com All-Argentinian TNA 2nd Team.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Jones' team won Argentinian TNA North Regular Season in 2017. He was also voted Latinbasket.com All-Argentinian TNA Player of the Year and Latinbasket.com All-Argentinian TNA Import player of the Year back in 2014.
Jones is quite experienced player. He has played in five different countries on three different continents (Europe, Latin America and of course North America). Jones has played previously professionally in Chile (CD Tinguiririca San Fernando), Germany (Dachau), Mexico (Halcones de Ciudad Obregon, Fuerza Guinda Nogales and Nogaleros), Argentina (Instituto) and PBL (Kentucky S.).
He is close to retirement age as a player. It's very possible he may end his playing career at Deportivo Viedma.
Jones attended Kentucky State until 2008 and it is his eleventh (!!!) season as a professional player.
He could be described: An undersized forward with an aggressive and physical style of play. Puts up a lots of points near to the basket, can successfully bang larger opponents inside.

Argentinian La Liga round 21 best performance: Daviyon Draper - 2 days ago
DAVIYON DRAPER American Forward Daviyon Draper (201-F-94) had an amazing evening in the last round for Estudiantes C., receiving a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 21. The 24-year old player was the main contributor (25 points, seven rebounds and four assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Libertad S. (#19, 5-17) 95-88. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Estudiantes C. is placed at...   [read more]
